About the Role

The Billing Specialist will work within the Finance Organization reporting to the General Ledger Manager and will be primarily responsible for billing and collection related activities.

This role is located in our San Francisco HQ office and is expected to be in the office five days a week.


What You Will Do

  • Review and manage billing, collections, and credit/refund related queries associated with dedicated customer accounts

  • Respond and resolve billing cases in Salesforce within a reasonable SLA

  • Follow up with past-due customers via email and phone on a daily basis

  • Establish and maintain a relationship with customer billing contacts to ensure best in class customer service

  • Maintain an upbeat and composed demeanor while handling customer issues

  • Work closely with Sales, Support, and Customer Success teams to ensure customer orders and billing is aligned

  • Regularly review the order to cash process including but not limited to reviewing customer contracts, resolving payment related issues, etc

  • Manage Accounts Receivable and advance to collections agency if needed and record bad debt expense with deemed uncollectible

  • Work closely with GL Manager and senior management to implement Netsuite Billing

  • Identify, design and implement operational improvements as needed and make recommendations on tools and software that integrate with related policies and systems

  • Work with your team and business partners on critical business objectives and potential efficiencies, providing concrete insights to help advise decision-making

  • Work on special projects identified by the senior management

What We are Looking For

  • Must be able to complete work with accuracy and high attention to detail

  • Highly proficient in Excel and GSuite

  • 3+ years of experience using Netsuite Billing

  • 3+ years of managing customer billing cases using a case management tool - preferably Salesforce

  • Desire to address customer issues via phone, email, or through billing cases

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or other relevant fields preferred

  • The candidate has an ability to communicate in a clear, professional, and thoughtful manner with customers at all levels

  • Is persistent. This role requires an individual who sees problems through to the end, even in the face of competing priorities.

  • Is highly technical; loves learning new technologies and has demonstrated the ability to quickly adopt new systems and software

  • Ability to identify errors and take action to correct errors immediately

  • Takes initiative, ownership, and is enjoys a fast paced environment

  • Understanding of the entire Order to Cash flow

  • Able to work independently

  • Experience at a start-up or high-tech SaaS company is a PLUS
