Maven seeks an operations-savvy and innovative Marketing Ops Manager to join Maven’s Member Growth Marketing team. You’ll (a) understand the detail of how we currently customize, standardize, and execute a high-volume of marketing campaigns targeted to prospective Maven members employers and health plans, (b) Partner with the employer and payer teams and our external vendor to customize, approve, coordinate and ship campaigns such as email, direct mail, employer toolkits and employer events (c) Build a more scalable and automated system for executing marketing playbooks across thousands of customers. You’re well-versed in the latest trends and tools for project management, marketing operations, and how AI overlaps with them, and have a hunger and willingness to dive into the hands-on details of our manual processes to discover and action ways to automate them to improve speed and efficiency. You can balance the day-to-day management of a high-volume of marketing campaigns, while also partnering with our VP, Marketing and cross-functional partners on select processes that can improve our internal and external operations across Marketing @ Maven. You thrive in a fast-paced environment and can dive in quickly to execute campaigns, while also elevating our systems for quality, efficiency and scale.
As Marketing Ops Manager you will be responsible for...
- Executing on High-Volume Marketing Materials: This role will be responsible for executing a high volume of marketing campaign materials, many of which leverage templates. This includes events, managing our branded goods store, shipping and printing direct mail and other marketing campaigns with our external partner, approving and editing creative for marketing materials, and partnering on open enrollment deliverables.
- Effective Project Management: Ensuring project deliverables and objectives are met with precision and timeliness for hundreds of marketing campaigns targeted to prospective Maven members at employers and health plans. Schedule and conduct regular project meetings to track progress and address any roadblocks.
- Production and Operational Efficiency: Strong understanding of best-in-class production strategies that are agile, cost-effective, and uphold creative excellence—includes budget management for printed materials. Capable of adapting these strategies to align with the business model. Includes executing the production of custom emails, direct mail campaigns, employer toolkits, events kits, and other marketing channels to support our employer and payer channels. Adapt project management strategies as needed based on campaign volumes and customer segments.
- Tool and System Innovation: Have a depth of knowledge in project management tools and automation, and have a hypothesis about how AI and specific tools can be applied to making Marketing processes more efficient. You’re someone who wants to understand how the current system works in detail, and then propose a solution that makes it faster and better.
- Collaborative Problem Solving: Proficiency in collaborating with internal stakeholders and cross-functional teams to creatively solve problems, build strong relationships, and think strategically. Stay up-to-date on the latest marketing trends and technologies, and lead implementations when relevant.
- Project Coordination: Develop and manage detailed timelines for multichannel projects, overseeing every step from strategy through to production, ensuring efficient workflow and timely execution. Collaborate with marketing and creative teams to develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- High-Priority Projects: Serve as the key point of contact for internal marketing projects, demonstrating leadership and professionalism in managing and facilitating solutions for business challenges. Partner with VP, Marketing on project management of priority marketing initiatives and meetings.
- Relationship Management and Troubleshooting: Ability to effectively manage and troubleshoot complex situations involving creative resources, vendor relationships, and project adjustments.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, ensuring clear, effective, and regular status updates and reports to all relevant parties.
We’re looking for you to bring:
- Project Management Experience: Demonstrated ability to manage projects through all lifecycle stages, with direct accountability for project deliverables and execution. Experience in setting deadlines, coordinating team tasks, and ensuring projects are completed on time and to specification.
- “Driver” & “Innovator” Mindset: You don’t accept the status quo for how our current systems operate. You want to understand manual processes, and proactively apply your project management expertise and understanding of existing and new solutions to improve and evolve how we do things over time. You’re someone who dives into the (often messy) details of the current system, and seeks to improve it not just incrementally, but exponentially.
- Marketing or Advertising Experience: Specific experience in a marketing operations or project management role, managing workflows within creative teams, and understanding the unique challenges of marketing project management. Willingness to be hands-on executing a high volume of campaigns, and scaling systems to make the process easier and more efficient.
- Results Orientation: Proven track record of leading projects and guiding team goals by taking ownership and driving results.
- Problem-solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with a proven ability to aid the team in resolving issues effectively. Experience in identifying, analyzing, and addressing complex project challenges.
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to negotiate while maintaining effective relationships.
- Adaptability: Experience working in an ambiguous environment, able to adapt quickly to changes in priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Helpful experiences and skills (if you don’t have them, you can learn them with us!):
- Familiarity with Industry Tools: Proficiency in project management software and tools such as Asana, Jira, or similar, as well as familiarity with design software like Canva, Figma and Adobe Creative Suite. Knowledge of Salesforce and Looker are a plus.
- Experience in B2B2C, Health or relevant industry
For candidates in NYC, CA or CO, the salary range for this role is $98K - $115K per year. You will also be entitled to receive stock options and benefits. Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, and skillset.
