xAI is seeking an engaging and professional Safety Representative to support the ongoing growth of the organization’s safety program.

Reporting to the HSE Manager, the Safety Representative is a dynamic safety professional with the ability to bolster our safety program's ongoing development. This role is pivotal for maintaining high safety standards within our organization

This is an in-person role based in Memphis, Tennessee.

Responsibilities:

  • Be prepared to respond promptly to safety and medical emergencies on-site.
  • Act as a first responder for on-site medical and safety emergencies, providing first aid to injured personnel as needed.
  • Maintain and operate with an elevated level of safety consciousness, contributing to the overall safety culture.
  • Work closely with the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Manager and other team members to ensure a safe working environment.
  • The Safety Representative will report directly to the HSE Manager.
  • Ensure the integrity and functionality of safety equipment through regular inspections, covering essentials like MedKit, First Aid Cabinets, AEDs, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) inventory, Eyewash Stations, and Fire Extinguishers
  • Utilize specialized equipment to extinguish fires.
  • Act as a resource to the security team when needed.
  • Conduct regular patrols of property throughout the entire length of the shift.
  • May assist with pulling safety report information and putting together safety report detail documents for Safety Managers.
  • May assist with inputting and reviewing incident reports.
  • Understand and implement the site-specific emergency response plan.
  • Conduct safety audits on job sites and identify potential hazards.
  • Advise construction management on safety issues and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Obtaining and recording dosimeter readings daily.
  • Ensure sufficient supply of suitable inventory of PPE and safety equipment. Work with the Site Safety Lead to order more supplies as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Basic Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • EMT Certified
  • Excellent knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Firefighter I/II certification from a nationally accredited organization.
  • Preference may be given to those who are already verified as an EMT Basic, Advanced or Paramedic andFirefighter also NFPA 1670 disciplines.
  • CPR/AED certified.
  • OSHA 10 Certification is preferred. Will be required within 6 months of hire.
  • OSHA 30 Certification is preferred. Will be required within12 months of hire.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience in military, law enforcement or emergency response.
  • Basic computer skills (desktop software)

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to differentiate between normal and abnormal findings in human physical conditions by using visual, auditory, olfactory and tactile observations.
  • Heavy: Frequent walking, standing, climbing, crawling, bending, pushing, pulling. carrying.
  • Lifting requirements: Frequently lifts 50 lbs. Occasional lifting excess of 100 lbs during emergency response.
