xAI is seeking a dedicated and proactive HSE Coordinator to join our team in Memphis, Tennessee. This role is crucial for ensuring our operations align with the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental stewardship. The HSE Coordinator will be instrumental in fostering a culture of safety, managing risk, and promoting environmental sustainability within our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure operations comply with local, state, and federal safety regulations and HSE standards.
- Conduct risk assessments for projects to identify and manage potential hazards.
- Oversee incident reporting, investigation, and implementation of corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver safety training programs for all employees, including orientations and emergency training.
- Promote best practices for waste disposal and environmental compliance to minimize the ecological footprint.
- Conduct internal and external safety audits to assess HSE program effectiveness.
- Maintain accurate records of HSE activities and prepare reports for management review.
- Stay updated on industry trends, safety technologies, and relevant legislation.
- Assist in the creation and revision of HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines to reflect best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in creating and revising HSE policies and guidelines.
- Manage the Hazard Communication Program, ensuring proper labeling and availability of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Engage with the local community on safety and environmental matters.
- Coordinate and present safety training to support xAI and client requirements, including planning, documentation, and presentation. This may include: New Hire Orientation, Fall Protection, Confined Space, Lockout/Tagout, Respiratory, etc.
- Must have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with fellow employees, third-party vendors, fire departments, rescue squads, police departments, communications centers, management, and the general public.
- Possess Field Safety Technician and permit writing experience.
- Experience in creating and implementing permits.
- Advanced computer skills
- Experience in Data Visualization and Reporting
- Ability to troubleshoot and triage challenges
- Track and maintain quarterly/yearly employee safety compliance via mandatory video training.
- Maintain the necessary permits to adhere to local, state and federal safety regulations.
- Assist in the execution of the jobsite safety plans.
- Ensure safety documentation is complete and accurate as required by xAI and regulations.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must have excellent verbal, written, electronic communication skills.
- Must be able to handle conflict situations with good judgment, professionalism and courtesy.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- CPR/AED certified.
- OSHA 10 Certification is preferred. Will be required within 6 months of hire.
- OSHA 30 Certification is preferred. Will be required within12 months of hire.
- Experience in a safety function managing large sites, corporate, or manufacturing environments is desirable.
Physical Requirements:
- Moderate: Occasional sitting and typing to complete administrative requirements. Occasional walking, climbing, bending, pushing, and pulling.
- Lifting requirements: Frequent lifting of 25 lbs. Occasional lifting excess of 100 lbs in emergency response.
