As an Associate People Generalist at xAI, you will be given the opportunity to partner with some of the most talented professionals in the world: executing people strategies to retain talent, coaching employees and managers on HR policies and guidelines and working to ensure the xAI mission is a constant reality for all employees. We serve as trusted professionals providing guidance and feedback to our client groups, driving efficiencies and best practices in a highly dynamic and fast-paced organization.

The ideal candidate has experience working in a fast paced startup-like environment wearing multiple hats. Availability, flexibility, and adaptability are the keys to success for this role. A demonstrated interest in Human Resources is preferred, but previous Human Resources experience is not required.

This is an in-person role based in Palo Alto, CA that requires up to 20% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the employee onboarding experience for Bay-Area employees ensuring xAI’s preparedness and each new-hire’s ease and efficiency to start work
  • Administer xAI’s I-9 and E-Verify processes
  • Process HR information system (Rippling) transactions
  • Manage xAI’s global swag program including procurement, transactions, and delivery
  • Administer xAI’s Bay-Area food service program and all logistics related to employee communication, catering, and food delivery
  • Analyze and report on HR data weekly by updating and maintaining an HR dashboard
  • Manage the Palo Alto <> San Francisco employee shuttle service
  • Monitor and respond to correspondence in the Bay-Area HR slack and email channels
  • Manage xAI’s Bay-Area perks program (including coffee, snacks, gym memberships, and discounts)
  • Assist the People Generalist with planning all-hands meetings and company events
  • Provide field HR support to employees working in various Bay Area offices
  • Audit time and attendance punches and approvals
  • Assist with travel and relocation administration and coordination
  • Shadow and occasionally conduct employee investigations, separations, and exit interviews.
  • Assist with HR and recruiting initiatives and projects as needed

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business, human resources, or related field

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • 2+ years of experience working in a startup-like environment
  • Acute attention to detail and strong multitasking skills
  • Ability to work independently and with little direction
  • Ability to quickly and reasonably prioritize tasks
  • Strong communications skills with the ability to communicate with internal/external customers, vendors, management etc. in both formal and informal situations
  • An analytical mindset that thrives on formulating strategy and presenting data
  • Highly organized with a strong sense of urgency

Compensation and Benefits

  • Pay Range: $85,000 - $105,000 per year

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at xAI.
