Opportunity:

Womp is looking for an experienced backend engineer to help us build the next generation of our 3D creation platform. You will work with a team of front-end engineers, graphics researchers, and senior leadership to design and build the critical back-end services that drive Womp. We are a small but steadily growing team, and this position will be essential in shaping the future of our product, team, and company culture. Check out our product hunt page. Responsibilities:

  • Build, test, and maintain scalable streaming infrastructure to power our platform
  • Develop gstreamer pipelines for new functionalities and optimize existing ones.
  • Talk to developers or even customers to debug/trace streaming performance and reliabilty.
  • Work with the CTO and other senior engineers to make high-level architecture and design decisions
  • Contribute to our continuous efforts to improve our development infrastructure and processes
  • Help communicate and implement best practices across the engineering team
  • Collaborate and participate in team meetings and daily stand-ups
  • Ability to multitask and adapt within an agile startup environment

    • Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience with Webrtc
  • Deep understanding of GPU usage of multi-process, multi-thread environment
  • Proficiency with C++
  • Strong Computer Science fundamentals
  • Ability to write high quality, maintainable, modular and well tested code
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, especially AWS.
  • Experience with profiling, troubleshooting and optimizing performance
  • Familiarity with Agile and Lean development practices
  • Good written and spoken English communication skills are essential for this role

    • Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with 3d graphics development
  • Experience with Javascript and React is a plus
