Role

What you'll do

• Design, build, and maintain backend services, APIs, and data pipelines to support real-time data collection, processing, and AI model integration.
• Develop scalable infrastructure for ingesting and storing structured and unstructured retail data from multiple sources.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers to ensure clean, reliable interfaces between backend systems and client applications.
• Build a bi-directional data integration layer to streamline the flow of structured data into training models and back into the application.
• Integrate third-party systems such as CRMs, ERPs, and analytics tools to expand the platform’s data capabilities.
• Own data models, schema design, and API documentation to ensure system consistency and maintainability.
• Monitor performance and debug issues across distributed systems.
• Write automated tests and contribute to a strong culture of code quality and observability.
• Contribute to DevOps processes and CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth deployments and platform reliability.
• Participate in architectural planning, code reviews, and agile development practices

What we're looking for

• 3+ years of experience in backend development with scalable web applications.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and Python and experience with backend frameworks such as Express.js, FastAPI, or similar.
• Solid understanding of RESTful API design and implementation.
• Experience with data modeling, relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Firebase).
• Familiarity with asynchronous job queues, caching layers, and microservice architecture.
• Comfortable working in cloud environments (e.g., GCP, AWS).
• Knowledge of Git, CI/CD, and agile methodologies.
• Strong debugging, performance profiling, and system-level thinking.
• Excellent written and spoken communication in English.
