About Us

Vontive is a San Francisco based FinTech startup co-founded in 2017 by Freddie Mac and Palantir Technologies alumni. Our software is transforming the $2 trillion real-estate investment market, bringing the business purpose mortgage, a traditionally offline and manual financial product, into a modern platform for borrowers and partners. We provide liquidity to homebuilders, investors buying and renovating properties, and landlords. Our mortgages close 80% faster than bank loans while offering similarly competitive pricing.

What is a Co-op?

Co-ops are 4-7 month full-time work experiences for university students looking to apply their studies in a real-world setting, learn and be mentored by industry professionals, and validate their career goals and degree path prior to graduation. We're hiring ideally for the June – December timeframe, but are open to working with you if timing doesn't perfectly align.

Your Co-op Experience

The engineering team knows firsthand how to provide a meaningful co-op experience with a full time engineering team – inclusive of 3 former co-ops turned full-time – . We’ve previously successfully hosted 5 co-op cycles and – pandemic-willing – look forward to returning safely to in person mentorship, hackathons, industry conferences and meetups, and more to maximize your time with us.

We are seeking highly motivated, autonomous and accountable individuals who are driven to take on real responsibility within a production application. Once you are up to speed with our system architecture, you will take the lead on a front-end, back-end, or devops project of your own design.

You will receive direct mentorship from one of our lead engineers, who will be there to assist you in designing, debugging, and deploying each project you build in your co-op and help you tailor your experience with us to fit your interests and long-term career goals.

Potential Projects

On a given day you could be implementing both the front and backends of new user workflows including:

  • Product pricing engine to provide users with terms, rates and offers
  • Digitally-assisted underwriting to qualify loan applications and streamline loan closing
  • Automated document generation, packaging, and partner API integrations
  • Integrations with 3rd-party APIs to gather property, credit, and background check information
  • End-user interfaces for real estate investors, financial institutions, and underwriters
  • Capital-market APIs and financial-institution integrations for loan sales and securitizations
