The Role

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to physically join our finance team in San Jose, California. In this role, you will be responsible for managing accounting operations, ensuring the accuracy of the financial statements, and improving processes and implementing internal controls and systems.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and oversee daily accounting operations:

  • Efficiently and effectively manage the month-end close process to ensure accurate financial data.
  • Prepare and review account reconciliations
  • Prepare financial statements and metrics for Board meetings
  • Consolidate financial statements for Mexico and India subsidiaries
  • Prepare the monthly Balance Sheet and Income Statement fluctuation analysis
  • Identify automation opportunities while proactively engaging and collaborating with accounting transformation team members to build various scalable and transformational processes as well as to support new business initiatives
  • Develop and maintain internal controls
  • Provide technical accounting advice to various stakeholders as needed
  • Manage audit activities with external auditors
  • Prepare year-end financial report
  • Review and enhance chart of accounts for financial reporting
  • Assist with requests for tax filings
  • Effectively manage and mentor accounting team

Required Qualifications

  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field
  • 4+ years of general accounting experience
  • Big 4 accounting firm
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Strong knowledge of revenue recognition, cost accounting and stock-based compensation
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with various parts of the organization outside of accounting
  • Positive team player willing to assist others when needed
  • Previous management role and ability to direct, supervise and mentor employees
  • Ability to lead and embrace changes

Preferred Qualifications

  • Masters in Business Administration or Accounting

The salary range for this role is $150,000 to $175,000, plus bonuses and Pre-IPO equity. It is uncommon for anyone to be hired at or near the top range for their role, and final compensation is based on the facts and circumstances of the case. The compensation range is broad because it reflects many factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience, and training directly relevant to the role, business and company needs, cultural fit, level, and location.
