Summary

Using your engineering background, you will be primarily responsible for overall factory management including activities in production to meet production goals, quality, productivity, and cost objectives. You have experience with NPI in a remote engineering facility and your manufacturing line has achieved certification. You will directly or indirectly manage operations, quality, and engineering, plan and administer procedures and budgets.
Reporting directly to EVP, Operations, you will run a multi-shift manufacturing line including the hiring of people on the line, supervisors and managers.

Requirements

  1. Manages all personnel related activities within your area of responsibility throughout the Plant interacting with various levels of management.
  2. Manage a manufacturing line including final assembly and test of products to include PCBA (both high mix low volume and low mix high volume.)
  3. Lead management team in the weekly review of performance and setting of strategy to achieve production and revenue targets.
  4. Establish and maintain strong internal customer relationships through performance that results in the profitable recurring business plus providing the opportunities for growth into additional new business.
  5. Provide direction and execute the product/service contract management process resulting in accurate forecasts of output, manufacturing yields,cycle time and target cost of goods
  6. Participates in formulating and administering company policies and developing long-range goals and objectives.
  7. Reviews analyses of activities, costs, operations and forecast data to determine department or division progress toward stated goals and objectives.
  8. Work in a matrix relationship with several functional areas in the company headquarter in San Jose

Qualifications

Required

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • At least 5 years of progressive managerial experience in a vertically integrated or contract manufacturing plant
  • Experience in the production of products containing electronic components, which require some sort of certification (for example UL, automotive, medical, …) including respective factory audits
  • Direct line management experience of direct labor
  • Excellent communication skills in both Spanish and English
  • Must be able totravel back and forth between US and Mexico
  • Must be able to travel up to 15% to San Jose CA
  • Must have experience with new product introduction (NPI) either as an NPI engineer or manager of an NPI team
  • Demonstrated success in implementing lean/six-sigma manufacturing
  • General management experinence (managing several functions in a manufacturing plant(

Preferred

  • Manufactured products with wireless networking capabilities
  • Transitioning a factory into “macquila” status
  • Experience with Mexican tax requirements
