The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.
As a Mechanical Shop Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting mechanical operations for ongoing Tunneling projects in Las Vegas, NV.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and organize Mechanical and Hydraulic shop, ensuring a safe, clean, and functional environment.
- Processes requisitions and small parts orders to ensure proper inventory levels in tool rooms and supply cages.
- Provides insight to management on tools and supplies needed.
- Oversees day-to-day tracking of all tools and consumables assigned to the Mechanics team onsite.
- Support mechanics and technicians in equipment / tool maintenance as needed.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid US driver's license
- Knowledge of tools and their uses and applications
- Knowledge of mechanical hardware and fasteners
Preferred Skills and Experience
- 1+ years of experience in a mechanics shop
- Technical/Vocational education
- Forklift or Heavy Equipment Operation experience
Additional Requirements
- Position may require extended hours and weekend work
- Ability to lift and haul 40 lbs unassisted
- Ability to stand for long periods of time, stoop, bend, push and pull
- Must be able to perform work in a variety of weather conditions
- This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
