The Boring Company was founded to solve the problem of soul-destroying traffic by creating an underground network of tunnels. Today, we are creating the technology to increase tunneling speed and decrease costs by a factor of 10 or more with the ultimate goal of making Hyperloop adoption viable and enabling rapid transit across densely populated regions.
Responsibilities
- Leading resource planning and coordination.
- Developing engineering concepts, and articulation to the team.
- Working as part of a multi-discipline team to deliver project input.
- Project management and ownership of the engineering input into the project.
- Ability to coordinate with different teams, both within The Boring Company and externally.
- Liaising with the client, attending progress meetings and producing reports on progress.
- Providing expert engineering input into design; and evaluation of built environment proposals.
- Monitor construction schedules.
Basic Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED.
- Experience working with government and local agencies.
- 10+ years of experience in the design and/or project management of tunnels.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Acute attention to detail and strong multitasking skills.
- Ability to quickly and reasonably prioritize tasks.
- Strong communications skills with the ability to communicate with internal/external customers, vendors, management etc. in both formal and informal situations.
- An analytical mindset that thrives on formulating strategy and presenting data.
- Highly organized with a strong sense of urgency.
- Exception leadership abilities.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong team-building skills
Additional Requirements
- Position may require extended hours and weekend work.
- Able to travel for short and extended trips as needed. Up to 20% travel.
- The ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environments
