About the Role
As a Medical Assistant for Seen Health PACE (Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly), you play a vital role in providing comprehensive and compassionate care to our elderly participants. Working closely with healthcare professionals and the interdisciplinary team, you will support clinical operations, assist in patient care delivery, and contribute to the overall well-being of our participants. This dynamic role combines administrative responsibilities with hands-on clinical support, offering a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference for seniors in the SGV community.
Responsibilities
- Prepare participants for appointments, including setting up exam rooms, checking them in and out, obtaining their medical history, and performing pre-exam physical tests like vital sign measurements.
- Perform general medical procedures under the supervision of a physician or nurse practitioner and registered nurse, such as dressing changes, vaccinations, point of care testing (POCT), phlebotomy, and basic laboratory functions.
- Collaborate with PACE Clinic RN, PACE RN Case Manager to coordinate health care services and assist by providing direct and indirect patient care, including assisting with patient examinations, external and specialist appointments, transportation, and medication delivery.
- Handle administrative duties like greeting patients, maintaining health records, scheduling appointments, and managing billing and coding processes.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of examination rooms, medical equipment, and maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations through keeping accurate logs.
- Educate patients on self-care techniques, chronic disease management, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals within the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) to ensure coordinated patient care.
Qualifications
- Medical Assistant diploma required.
- High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
- Prior experience as a Medical Assistant and working with the frail elderly and proficiency with Electronic Medical Records.
- Mandarin/Cantonese is preferred.
- Certification by a Medical Assistant Certifying Organization approved by the State Medical Board, preferred

- Los Angeles required. Ability to commute to Alhambra required.
