Job Overview
We are seeking a Material Flow Specialist responsible for managing the movement, storage, and distribution of materials required for the production of our advanced autonomous surface vessels. Your expertise will ensure an efficient and streamlined supply chain to support our development efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand material requirements for vessel production and related projects
  • Develop and implement effective material flow strategies, ensuring timely availability of materials to support production schedules
  • Plan and optimize inventory levels while minimizing excess and shortages of critical components
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to manage procurement, lead times, and delivery schedules
  • Monitor and track material movement within the facility, including receipt, storage, and distribution
  • Implement and maintain inventory management systems to accurately track material levels and consumption
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations, quality standards, and safety protocols in material handling
  • Analyze material flow processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing continuous enhancements
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to resolve any material-related issues that may impact production schedules
  • Generate reports and provide insights on material flow efficiency, inventory accuracy, and performance metrics
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings to communicate material status, challenges, and recommendations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Logistics, or a related field. Master's degree preferred
  • Experience in material flow management, preferably in the fields of manufacturing, aerospace, or maritime technology
  • Proficiency in inventory management software, supply chain planning tools, and Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong understanding of supply chain principles, procurement processes, and inventory control
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to optimize material flow processes
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external suppliers
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, priorities, and stakeholders in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential material-related issues
  • Knowledge of industry regulations, quality standards, and safety practices related to material handling
