Job Overview
We are seeking a Strategic Initiatives Manager to lead critical efforts that drive initiatives that identify, analyze, and validate strategic opportunities while addressing potential blind spots in our mission execution.
Responsibilities
- Leadership of Strategic Initiatives: Lead and manage lines of effort, projects, and initiatives to evaluate and advance the company’s mission and strategy. Identify, define, and address company blind spots in achieving its mission
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Coordinate with internal teams (engineering, product development, operations, etc.) and external partners to secure resources, expertise, and alignment. Ensure initiatives are scoped effectively to prevent redundancy and overlap with existing efforts. Oversee the smooth transition of initiatives once validated
- Documentation and Reporting: Document, catalog, and archive results of all initiatives, whether successfully transitioned or discontinued. Maintain a comprehensive repository of initiative outcomes to inform future efforts and decision-making
- Strategic Analysis and Advisory: Analyze and evaluate emerging technologies, business opportunities, partnerships, and initiatives. Provide recommendations to leadership to ensure alignment with the company’s strategic goals and mission
- Thought Leadership: Support the planning, development, and execution of thought leadership content and media projects. Author and advise on materials that showcase the company’s vision, capabilities, and insights
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
- Experience in strategic planning, project management, or a related role, preferably in defense, technology, or maritime industries
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize data, evaluate opportunities, and provide actionable recommendations
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including experience with authoring thought leadership content
- Familiarity with DoD procurement processes and defense technologies; maritime operations is preferred
