Before starting Roundtrip.ai to make EasyRoutes, our team (formerly at Google, Mozilla, Xtreme Labs/Pivotal Labs) worked on building internet browsers and making apps that are used by billions of people globally.

What you'll do / how you'll make an impact:
Become on expert on our backend architecture, being responsible for designing and launching new APIs for our customers from beginning to end.
Ship user-facing features in our products to delight our customers by writing maintainable code, consistently and reliably.
Join and contribute to a culture in a new team preparing for a significant growth where you can focus on shipping.
Understand our product, understand our customers. We believe the best software gets built when there's a shared understanding of what we're building and who we're building for.
Help us ship faster by improving our software build / test / integration / deployment tooling for backend, frontend, and mobile platforms.
What you'll bring to the table:
Minimum 4+ years of full-time experience within a product-centric environment in either a full-stack or backend focused role.
Minimum 2+ years of professional Go experience. All our backends and tooling are powered by Go. Writing
if err != nil
is automatic for you. Familiarity with React, Typecript, React Native, PostgreSQL, or Google Cloud. You don’t have to be an expert across the board but some full-time experience with any of the above is an asset.
Passion and experience with building delightful software: you love the craft of building snappy, simple software across each part of the stack that lead to beautiful experiences for the customer.
A desire to sleep soundly at night: while we move fast, we move with intention. You understand the value of writing reliable, testable, and maintainable code and have experience debugging production systems.
Experience in a remote-first startup environment, and along with it the ability to move quickly, communicate clearly in different mediums, operate in areas of ambiguity, and make strategic tradeoffs regarding technical debt.
A growth mindset: being an early hire at a seed stage start-up means there'll be times you have to solve problems outside your area of expertise. You'll embrace these moments as opportunities to learn and grow.
Ability to travel to Toronto on a monthly basis: while this role is remote, we meet as a team in Toronto every month.
