About Reserv

Reserv is an insurtech creating and incubating cutting-edge AI and automation technology to bring efficiency and simplicity to claims. Founded by insurtech veterans with deep experience in SaaS and digital claims, Reserv is venture-backed by Bain Capital and Altai Ventures and began operations in May 2022. We are focused on automating highly manual tasks to tackle long-standing problems in claims and set a new standard for TPAs, insurance technology providers, and adjusters alike.

We have ambitious (but attainable!) goals and need people who can work in an evolving environment. If building a leading TPA and the prospect of tackling the long-standing challenges of the claims role sounds exciting, we can’t wait to meet you.

About the role

We're looking for a sharp Personal Injury Protection Adjuster with litigation chops to join our growing team. You'll dive into PIP/MP litigation and arbitrations across all 50 states—evaluating coverage, payment timelines, denials, and fee schedules—all while delivering exceptional customer service and making smart, strategic decisions.

You'll own an inventory of PIP suits and arbitrations, working to get dismissals, negotiate settlements, or team up with defense counsel to resolve cases efficiently. When volumes shift, you'll jump in to handle non-litigated claims work too—keeping things moving and interesting.

We want someone who loves designing better processes that lead to faster resolutions and stronger outcomes. You'll work closely with our product and engineering teams to spot opportunities for tech and process improvements, and partner with adjusters and leadership to build strategies that cut down on unnecessary litigation and arbitrations down the road.

If you're ready to make an impact, solve problems, and help shape the future of claims—we'd love to meet you.

Who you are

  • Excited about building a tech-driven claims organization
  • Passionate about the customer experience
  • You're empathetic and patient with everyone you interact with
  • Driven by a sense of urgency (without working around the clock)
  • Creative in finding the right resolution that serves the insured's best interest
  • You're comfortable with conflict—see it as conversational, not adversarial
  • Curious about the whole story so you can make the right decisions early
  • Anti-status quo—you don't just wish things were different, you make them different
  • A strong communicator
  • You have a sense of humor (claims are hard enough as it is!)

What you'll do

You'll own the full claims experience—and make it better:

  • Deliver exceptional service to policyholders and claimants—answering calls, tackling arbitrations and suit filings, and strategizing with defense counsel
  • Dig into PIP/MP claims to uncover coverage, assess injury extent, and evaluate medical billing—then craft the smartest defense or resolution strategy
  • Hunt down the facts—gather documentation, interview parties, explain policy and coverage like a pro, and resolve medical expenses
  • Make the call—assess claim validity using evidence, medical records, and the law, then decide on settlement amounts or chart the path forward
  • Stay sharp on compliance with state regulations, policy provisions, and SOPs
  • Be the connection—keep claimants, policyholders, attorneys, and medical providers informed with regular updates, smart questions, and clear progress toward resolution
  • Tell the story—prepare compelling claim reports with detailed findings, damage evaluations, and rock-solid rationale for your decisions
  • Shape the future—share your insights to improve claims guidelines, best practices, and processes
  • Lead the charge—oversee investigative service providers and collaborate with client counsel to drive claims to resolution
  • Never stop learning—dive into commercial lines knowledge, court decisions, current guidelines, and policy changes to stay ahead of the game

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (lack of one should not stop you from applying if you possess all the other qualifications)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience on point and concentrated in Personal Injury Protection, ideally experience with:
  • Handling the states of NY / NJ / and MI MI / FL and/or KY.
  • Handling of commercial or ride share policies is highly preferred
  • Bodily Injury and coordination of benefits between PIP and UM / UIM.
  • Minimum of 2 years handling arbitrations in either NY or NJ and litigation in other states such as MI, FL, MA or PA.
  • Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions on litigation to resolve, or if defending to hold counsel accountable to move the process forward.
  • Have active adjuster license(s) and be willing to obtain all licenses within 45 days, including completing state required testing
  • Knowledge of state regulations, policy provisions, and standard operating procedures

Benefits

  • Generous health-insurance package with nationwide coverage, vision, & dental
  • 401(k) retirement plan with employer matching
  • Competitive PTO policy – we want our employees fresh, healthy, happy, and energized!
  • Generous family leave policy after 8 months of continuous work
  • Work from anywhere to facilitate your work life balance
  • Apple laptop, large second monitor, and other quality-of-life equipment you may want. Technology is something that should make your life easier, not harder!

Additionally, we will

  • Listen to your feedback to enhance and improve upon the long-standing challenges of an adjuster and the claims role
  • Work toward reducing and eliminating all the administrative work from an adjuster role
