About the Role

Ramp is looking for an experienced leader to act as head strategist and editor in chief to take our content program to the next level. Your responsibilities will include deeply understanding Ramp’s audience, defining our global content roadmap, leading a SWAT team of writers, editors, and marketers, and crafting resonant and industry-leading content. Your goals will include driving brand awareness amongst finance professionals, reinforcing our category leadership, and generating qualified leads, as well as educating our customers and enabling our sales organization.

We’re looking for a strategic storyteller with insatiable creativity and a penchant for experimentation. In other words: you have a lot of cool ideas, are quick to execute, and inclined to optimize. You should be comfortable expounding on technical topics and leveraging data to create attention-grabbing pieces. Your user-centric and growth-oriented mindset will guide you to driving deliverables that are not only helpful and unique to Ramp but undeniably shareable.

This will be a highly cross-functional role, expected to work across our Marketing, Sales, and Growth functions as well as with external stakeholders such as partners, customers, and editorial freelancers. We’re looking for someone who’s done it before, and wants to do it again at 10x – white papers, blog posts, SEO articles, newsletters, webinars, videos, and more.

What You'll Do

  • Develop and execute on an ambitious and unifying content strategy. From that, craft actionable goals and create bi-annual marketing editorial plans and thematic calendars.

  • Act as exceptional player-coach, building and managing a world class content team as well as directly creating high-quality content that grows the Ramp brand and nurtures prospects.

  • Partner with Product and Brand Marketing as well as PR/Communications to craft compelling global narratives and messaging.

  • Work closely with subject matter experts from around the company to identify and build up thought leaders and develop the most reputable content possible.

  • Deeply understand our Ideal Customer Profile segments and conduct audience and competitor research. Stay on top of finance industry developments, news, and trends so that we publish content that resonates with Ramp target prospects and customers.

  • Collaborate with external contributors – partners, freelancers, customers – to contribute to our content program. Leverage the latest technology to assist with content creation, SEO optimization, and data analysis. Partner closely with the SEO team and regularly review scaled content for quality.

  • Ensure consistent tone and brand across all content and target audiences while continuously analyzing and optimizing performance. Train internal teams on editorial best practices to scale content production at Ramp

What You Need

  • Minimum 7 years of experience leading content strategy in B2B SaaS or fintech; familiarity with accounting and finance topics for SMB and mid-market audiences

  • Minimum 3 years of experience leading a Content team, influencing key stakeholders, and directly managing individual contributors

  • Combination of confidence and passion, humility to accept feedback, a persistent spark of curiosity, and an indefatigable growth mindset

  • Strong communication and project management skills

  • Comfort with navigating ambiguity and juggling multiple initiatives

  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines; Self-motivated and able to thrive in a fast-paced and self-directed environment

  • Excellent writing and editing skills, of course!

Compensation

  • The annual salary/OTE range for the target level for this role is $170,000-$200,000 + target equity + benefits (including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)
