As a Scientist - Antibody Discovery and Engineering on our team, you’ll drive the design, discovery, and production of therapeutic molecules. We’re open to multiple levels for this role, from Associate Scientist to Senior Scientist.

About Prox

Prox Bio is an early-stage, well-financed biotech company developing multifunctional therapeutics to impact millions of patients. We combine cutting-edge methods in immunology, computational biology, and antibody engineering to advance superior antibody drugs efficiently to the clinic. We’re building a tight-knit team driven by the opportunity to develop meaningful medicines with urgency. Let’s create tomorrow’s immunotherapies together.

The role

We’re seeking an antibody engineer to establish and lead our internal antibody discovery and engineering group. We seek candidates with intrinsic desire to influence therapeutic development, jump in without hesitation, and execute in the lab relentlessly. As an early team member of Prox, you have the opportunity to guide our trajectory and grow alongside it.

About you

  • Motivated to make medicine

  • Constantly surveying the therapeutic landscape

  • Detailed-oriented down to each nucleotide or amino acid

  • Fast-paced and biased towards action

  • Collaborative and people-centric

How you’ll drive impact

  • Collaborate with the team to design antibodies and analyze antibody sequences

  • Produce and engineer antibody constructs for functional and bioanalytical testing

  • Establish and run in vitro discovery campaigns with existing libraries

  • Lead engagement, design, and execution with CROs for discovery, engineering, production, and bioanalytical projects

  • Document, present, and interpret research results to drive molecule development

Qualifications

We recognize that a range of skill sets and backgrounds may excel in this role, but generally, we’re looking for someone with:

  • PhD with 0-5 years industry experience or BS/MS with 2-10 years industry experience in related disciplines

  • Experience in designing, running, and analyzing in vitro discovery campaigns

  • Experience in designing, producing, and characterizing multispecific antibodies

  • Background in protein sciences, biochemistry, structural biology, or drug development

  • Highly motivated and entrepreneurial candidates are encouraged to apply

Joining Prox

We believe the fusion of unique talents, backgrounds, and perspectives is crucial to creating new medicine. We are dedicated to cultivating a supportive and rewarding environment that enables every team member to reach their highest potential. This includes the following key aspects of our culture:

  • We work in person at LabCentral in Cambridge, MA.

  • Team members lead team meetings to move science forward.

  • We get to know each other with team lunch, events, etc.

We’re proud to offer programs and benefits that support our team:

  • Competitive base and equity compensation

  • Unlimited paid time off

  • Generous personal and family medical, dental and vision benefits
