As a Computational Biologist on our team, you’ll apply cutting-edge computational methods to a range of unique datasets to nominate and validate therapeutic molecules.

About Prox

Prox Bio is an early-stage, well-financed biotech company developing multifunctional therapeutics to impact millions of patients. We combine cutting-edge methods in immunology, computational biology, and antibody engineering to advance superior antibody drugs efficiently to the clinic. We’re building a tight-knit team driven by the opportunity to develop meaningful medicines with urgency. Let’s create tomorrow’s immunotherapies together.

The role

We’re seeking a jack-of-all-trades computational biologist to establish our computational team and support our immunology and engineering teams with the design and development of therapeutic molecules. We seek candidates with intrinsic desire to influence therapeutic development, jump in without hesitation, and execute in the cloud relentlessly. As an early team member of Prox, you have the opportunity to guide our trajectory and grow alongside it.

About you

  • Motivated to make medicine

  • Constantly learning about computational methods and best practices

  • Rigorous and organized developer and analyst

  • Fast-paced and biased towards action

  • Collaborative and people-centric

How you’ll drive impact

  • Analyze multi-omic datasets and continuously improve our data lake across different modalities and conditions

  • Communicate results to the team, including interactive apps, to drive experimental design and therapeutic development

  • Lead the implementation of various computational methods to accelerate experimental efforts and validation

  • Manage our cloud infrastructure and establish our computational group

Qualifications

We recognize that a range of skill sets and backgrounds may excel in this role, but generally, we’re looking for someone with:

  • PhD with 0-5 years industry experience or BS/MS with 2-10 years industry experience in related disciplines

  • Experience in analyzing multi-omic data from .bcl to .pdf

  • Experience in implementing accessible cloud-based workflows and dashboards

  • Experience with sequence-focused methods and analysis (RNA and protein)

  • Familiarity with immunology

  • Experience mentoring junior engineers and scientists

  • Highly motivated and entrepreneurial candidates are encouraged to apply

Joining Prox

We believe the fusion of unique talents, backgrounds, and perspectives is crucial to creating new medicine. We are dedicated to cultivating a supportive and rewarding environment that enables every team member to reach their highest potential. This includes the following key aspects of our culture:

  • We’re an open book across all aspects of Prox Bio.

  • We work in person at LabCentral in Cambridge, MA. For this role, hybrid and remote work may be considered depending on various factors.

  • Team members lead team meetings to move science forward.

  • We get to know each other with team lunch, events, etc.

We’re proud to offer programs and benefits that support our team:

  • Competitive base and equity compensation

  • Unlimited paid time off

  • Generous personal and family medical, dental and vision benefits

  • 401(k) starter program

  • Annual cash bonus

We estimate compensation for this role to be between $120,000 and $200,000. Actual pay will be based on various factors including experience and qualifications.
