Role Overview
As the Contracts Generalist at Promise, you will serve as the project manager for all contract negotiations and work cross-functionally with many teams, including but not limited to legal, finance, operations, information security, and engineering. The Contracts Generalist will be responsible for managing all customer and vendor contracts, tracking terms and document versions, and ensuring that all final versions and special terms of contracts are documented and correctly tracked.
What You’ll Do
Prepare summaries of contract documentation for executive review.
Develop a centralized contract tracking system to enhance efficiency in managing multiple contracts and deadlines.
Ensure compliance with data privacy requirements and special terms in customer and vendor agreements, where applicable.
Assist in drafting standard contract templates and updating them as business needs evolve.
Facilitate communication between external legal counsel (if applicable) and internal teams to expedite contract reviews and approvals.
Analyze contract trends and outcomes to identify areas of improvement and recommend best practices for future negotiations.
Manage and track contract renewals, amendments, and terminations to ensure all agreements remain current and relevant.
What Will Enable You
Bachelor's degree in business, legal studies, or a related field.
Knowledge of contract law and experience with customer and vendor contracts is a plus.
3+ years of experience in contract management, legal, or project management roles, preferably in a corporate setting.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
Proficiency in contract management software, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Docs.
Comfort with a fast-paced, evolving environment, with the agility to adjust strategies and approaches as new opportunities and challenges arise.
