Microfluidics is the technology behind the future of personalized medicine and rapid diagnostics. At, we recently raised seed funding to create a development platform that will power the next generation of microfluidic products.
We are hiring a skilled technician to produce microfluidic devices and support our engineering team in a fast-paced startup environment.
In this position, you will:
- Fabricate microfluidic devices using the Parallel manufacturing process
- Operate custom automation equipment
- Inspect devices against specifications
- Track progress and present results during fabrication team meetings
- Troubleshoot problems in the manufacturing process
- Record detailed notes of observations during fabrication
- Work with the engineering team to improve production techniques
This role is an opportunity to become a vital member of the Parallel team. You will be the first point of contact on our production line and should exercise analytical judgment to support a semi-automated manufacturing process. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, owns their work, and is a clear communicator. Since our team at Parallel is small, the exact nature of the work for this role may change daily to best support the company. There will be many opportunities for growth as the company expands.
We don’t expect anyone to have all of the experience listed below. But, expertise or interest in learning some of the skills below is a huge plus:
- Microfluidics or microfabrication
- Troubleshooting electromechanical systems
- Data collection and analysis
- Hands-on assembly and fabrication skills
- Optical inspection and microscopy
- CNC mill operation and programming
