Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring a Product Operations Manager to join our Product Operations team.

About the role

The Product Operations team unlocks Oscar’s ability to ship more products faster and better, which is critical to Oscar’s overall mission to use technology and design to refactor healthcare. The primary function of Product Operations is to execute and continuously improve processes leading up to product launch, as well as ongoing processes that have not been automated.

As a Product Operations Manager, you will partner closely with Product team members, Engineering, business teams, external partners, and other stakeholders within the Claims domain. This domain's scope includes claims infrastructure, front-end Claims management software, a payments processing UI, and configuration of the claims adjudication pipeline.

You will report to the Senior Product Operations Manager.

Pay Transparency:

The base pay for this role is: $119,200 - $156,450 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar’s unlimited vacation program, company equity grants and annual performance bonuses.

Responsibilities

  • Owns the execution of key product delivery processes and/or broader initiatives that scale and mature Oscar’s Technology teams.
    • Product delivery processes include: feature launches, bug triage and resolution, quality assurance (QA) planning and execution, and building/maintaining product and stakeholder feedback loops. Prioritizes processes within scrum teams to accomplish, improve, scale, and execute.
    • Broader initiatives impact multiple pods and may include roadmap administration, team productivity analysis and/or defining templates. Responsible for Collaborating with stakeholders to identify process improvements and partnering with business leaders and other stakeholders to develop and execute against a project plan for successful socialization and roll out.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders including, Product Management, Design, Engineering, and Data Science, to support effective collaboration and discovery of solutions to deliver on department programs and objectives.
  • Independently analyze data and workflows to identify opportunities for process improvement.
  • Design and implement process improvements that improve efficiency and quality.
  • Create and maintain documentation to make processes sustainable and scalable.
  • Apply project management strategies to ensure tasks are completed timely. When projects are not on track, proactively socialize required support with appropriate stakeholders to ensure outcomes can be met.
  • Monitor success metrics to ensure applications and/or processes are meeting their KPIs.
  • Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience working in a cross-functional role in technology or operations.
  • 3+ years of experience working directly with engineers and designers.
  • 2+ years experience working directly with engineering scrum teams.
  • 3+ years of experience with common project management tools such as Jira or Monday.com.
  • 1+ years of SQL experience (equivalent technical experience is considered commensurate).

Bonus Points

  • 5+ years of experience working in a cross-functional role in technology or operations.
  • Experience proactively and independently identifying opportunities for improvements in process and execution, with a proven track record of implementing changes effectively.
  • Demonstrated ability to act with high levels of independence and accountability during identification, scoping, and execution of process improvements.
  • Experience navigating multiple stakeholders with competing priorities and making tradeoff decisions for your own work.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly ramp up to new subject matter and technical concepts
  • Experience using qualitative and quantitative insights to clarify decisions wherever possible.
  • Strong communication skills. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and proactively with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely progress on initiatives and effective management of risks and dependencies

Pay Transparency: Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, and experience.
