Hi, we're Oscar. We're hiring an Associate Director, Media Relations to join our Communications team.

About the role
As an Associate Director of Media Relations, you will be responsible for driving the media relations function within the Oscar Communications organization. You will lead efforts to enhance Oscar’s brand equity and reputation and engage critical stakeholders through strategic communications initiatives.
You will report to the Senior Director, Communications.

If you live within commutable distance to our New York City office (in Hudson Square), our Tempe office (off the 101 at University Dr), or our Los Angeles office (in Marina Del Rey), you will be expected to come into the office at least two days each week. Otherwise, this is a remote / work-from-home role.

Pay Transparency:
The base pay for this role in the states of California, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, and Washington is: $131,200 - $172,200 per year. The base pay for this role in all other locations is: $118,080 - $154,980 per year. You are also eligible for employee benefits, participation in Oscar’s unlimited vacation program and annual performance bonuses.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute comprehensive media relations strategies that align with Oscar’s strategic goals.
- Build and maintain relationships with key media contacts, industry influencers, and stakeholders to secure steady drumbeat of positive media coverage.
- Implement a thought leadership program that includes events, awards / rankings, and contributed content.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams, including marketing, public relations, investor relations, government affairs, and executive leadership, to ensure consistency in messaging and alignment of media relations efforts.
- Evaluate the efficacy of media campaigns by tracking key metrics and KPIs; provide regular reporting and insights to senior management.
- Compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in communications, public relations, or corporate communications, with demonstrated progression in responsibilities.
Bonus Points
- Agency, in-house, healthcare (or other regulated industry), policy experience ideal.
- Public company experience preferred.

Pay Transparency: Final offer amounts, within the base pay set forth above, are determined by factors including your relevant skills, education, and experience.
