Position Description:The Radiation Protection Engineer is responsible for the design and analysis of shielding for the purposes of equipment design and radiation protection. This includes creative conceptual design, engineering analyses, modeling and simulation, selection of materials, and clear and thorough documentation of the design. Specific responsibilities may include:Responsibilities will differ depending on your background:

• Conducting radiation protection analysis for in-reactor and ex-reactor environments through radiation transport, activation analysis, and dose calculations
• Designing shielding systems to meet radiation protection requirements in both in-reactor and ex-reactor environments
• Devising analysis methodologies that efficiently and effectively build confidence in a design
• Collaborating cross-functionally to define design requirements, and providing technical feedback to quick-iterating design teams
• Documenting work using modern tools and techniques, and writing well-written, thoughtful technical reports
