Job Title: Head of HR and Administration

Location: Nile Headquarters (San Jose, CA/In Office)

Reporting Structure: Reports to the Chief Financial Officer

We envision an enterprise network free of complexity; one that makes operations all but invisible to our customers; teasing the boundaries of autonomy where the network continuously monitors, optimizes, and upgrades itself without the need for any human involvement. Our audacious journey began in 2018 when we first assembled a team of industry veterans and visionaries across networking, cybersecurity, cloud software, and AI to first tackle the wired and wireless LAN, disrupting a $100B market within enterprise networking. Four years later, we launched Nile to the world, making the Nile Access Service generally available. Growing rapidly, we’re delivering outcomes to our customers that they never imagined possible.

Where do we go from here? Well, that’s where you come in. We are expanding in all areas, bringing in some of the brightest talent to further shape Nile’s future, prepare for growth, and tackle tough tasks to ensure our momentum never slows.

Role Description:

As the Head of HR and Administration, you will be responsible for spearheading all aspects of human resources management and administrative operations within the company. Leveraging your extensive experience, you will partner with senior leadership to develop and implement HR initiatives tailored to our unique needs, with a particular focus on employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, HR policies and programs, and M&A integration. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving our growth and ensuring the scalability of our HR processes. This is a “build” role: hands-on leadership is key to success in this newly created in house role.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Oversee Nile’s global HR operations, ensuring alignment across regions (primarily in US and India).

Administrative Operations:

  • Manage all facets of HR administration, including employee onboarding/offboarding, facilities, stock administration, vendor management, HRIS, in addition to benefits and leave of absence administration.
  • Develop and administer company-wide HR initiatives to foster an empowering and inclusive work environment that supports employee growth and development.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, particularly with regard to payroll and taxation.

What you will bring:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with coursework in HR, Business, or Organization Development or equivalent. Master's degree or relevant HR certifications a plus.
  • 8+ years of previous HR administrative experience, with an emphasis on benefits programs and compensation plans, compliance, and HR operations and/or HR analytics.
  • Experience in a high-growth tech startup environment is a plus.
  • Strong people skills and an ability to connect and support employees at all levels.
  • In-depth knowledge of Federal, California, and local labor and regulatory requirements. General knowledge of employment laws and practices across the US.
  • Detailed knowledge and expertise in HR policies and procedures.
  • Proven expertise in designing systems and processes that support organizational goals.
  • Integrity, a positive attitude, and a growth mindset.
  • Exceptional senior level communication and presentation skills.
