Position Summary & Role

  • Perform operation and maintenance of Facility, Infrastructure and Building related systems including HVAC, HEPA filters, Heat exchangers, chilled water systems, hot water systems, Electrical systems, etc.
  • Perform minor building repairs to furniture, lighting, doors/locks, plumbing leaks, water fountains, corrosion mitigation, dent etc.
  • Ensure that the clean rooms and other (office, warehouse, PD) space are maintained in a state of cleanliness and readiness appropriate for a Biomanufacturing facility.
  • Escort contractors when they are onsite.
  • Perform facility related duties including refueling, yard maintenance and other required services.
  • Perform general Maintenance on gates and cantilever arms and other exterior facility systems.
  • Perform maintenance of sink drains and traps.
  • Responsible System Owner (RSO) for the Facility, Infrastructure, and Building related systems as needed.
  • Supervise Janitorial/Housekeeping program. Monitor and Supervise the Janitorial contractor to ensure the cleanliness of the facility is maintained to a high standard. This will include coming in after hours and weekends.
  • Supervise the monthly inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment. Order materials as needed.
  • Assist with Facilities repairs as needed and resolve requests issued by the Help Desk System. These required repairs may include painting, drywall repair, furniture repair, corrosion mitigation, floor repair, electrical outlet repair etc.
  • Responsible System Owner (RSO) for the pest control management program.
  • Jointly own facility and infrastructure monitoring with relevant SMEs.
  • Supervise the pest management monitoring by checking traps weekly throughout the building.
  • Update and maintain the Pest Management Logbook by making the required entries.
  • Schedule and coordinate with Pest Control Contractor
  • Supervise the contracted Pest Control company site visits and schedule additional visits as needed.
  • Responsible System Owner (RSO) for landscape maintenance program.
  • Supervise the contracted landscape maintenance company and manage and inspect their work to ensure quality of service.
  • Assist Engineering and Warehouse with Logistics. Move equipment and or furniture as required by Engineering Department and the Warehouse.
  • Assist with construction projects as needed.

Minimum Job Qualifications

  • Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, drawings, technical manuals, and specification.
  • Ability to author SOPs, work instructions, lists, spreadsheets etc.
  • Working knowledge of control systems, PLCs, HMIs.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Technical Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, HVAC, Process, Chemical Engineering
  • Six (6) years of work experience in the relevant area, preferably from Pharma, BioPharma, medical device industry.
  • Experience working in a regulated industry.
  • Experience leading technical teams on Capex projects, Maintenace and Repair tasks, and executing scheduled task is a plus.
  • Experience developing operations plan for Biomanufacturing facility maintenance and upkeep is a plus.
  • Ability to generate or modify engineering drawings is a plus.
  • Ability work with internal and external partners at a fast pace.

Role/Site Specific Requirements

  • This position may also include the following:
  • This role is primarily a non-Sedentary role. This can include climbing, kneeling, repetitive motion, temperature changes, and exerting up to 100 pounds of force to move objects.
  • Visual acuity such as: working with data & figures, viewing computer terminal, extensive reading, operating machinery, operating motor vehicles, general observations of facilities, etc.
  • Exposure to the following:
  • Moving mechanical parts, electrical current, working on high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
  • Handling, managing, disposing hazardous and non-hazardous waste (which can include: chemicals, universal and e-wastes, oil, aqueous wastewater, etc.), inclusive of exposure to bloodborne pathogens
  • Working in BSL-2/3 laboratories & production rooms, waste holding areas, or other facilities where biological hazards and hazardous chemicals may be stored or handled.
  • Conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation.
  • Close quarters, narrow passageways, crawl spaces, shafts, manholes, small enclosed rooms, small sewage and line pipes.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (which can include respirators, Personal Air Purifying Respirators (PAPR), gowns, gloves, face protection, other barrier equipment, etc.
  • Noise exposure of over 85 decibels (enough noise to shout to be heard above ambient noise level).

Our target base pay hiring range for this position is $24.00 - $36.50 per hour. Actual base pay is dependent upon a number of factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s geographical location, relevant experience, qualifications, skills and knowledge.
