OPPORTUNITY
Mammoth Biosciences has an opening for a Senior/Lead Project Manager (PM) who will manage several of our growing CRISPR-based Therapeutics programs. The project manager will be responsible for planning, oversight, and management of Gene Editing Technology Development projects and budgets in collaboration with internal technical teams, external service providers and our strategic partners. The Senior/Lead PM will partner with the Program Technical Lead to coordinate all internal and external team deliverables to ensure that project commitments are met. This role will report to the Sr Director or Director of Program Management.

PROJECT AND STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with Program Technical Leader and cross-functional team members to establish a product development strategy ensuring linkage between strategic and operational activities
  • Manage matrixed project teams through the application of PM skills in resource planning, timeline development, stakeholder management, risk/issue management, finance, and budget planning
  • Design, communicate and implement project plans in Smartsheet to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
  • Monitor progress of projects against plan. Define and collect metrics to track project progression and measure key deliverables
  • Highlight project risks and facilitate problem-solving, contingency planning, and decision-making to resolve problems and minimize delays
  • Coordinate and ensure cross-department communication and integration by leveraging cross-functional relationships to ensure seamless coordination and responsiveness
  • Establish regular communications to share information and updates with internal and external stakeholders throughout the duration of projects
  • Consolidate program metrics to support portfolio progress reporting
  • Ensure senior management approval of changes to scope, budget or timelines
  • Develop and execute project plans by coordinating with operations across various functional areas
  • Provide updated project documents and information for regular program and budget updates

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences, Bioengineering, Chemistry or an associated scientific discipline
  • 7+ years industry experience of which 2+ years must be in project management (3+ years industry experience with a PhD)
  • Proven experience in project or program management within the biotech/pharma industry - preferred experience managing projects in Gene Editing or Gene/Cell Therapy
  • Demonstrated proficiency in project management tools e.g. MS Project, SmartSheet, advanced Excel abilities
  • Ability to work on-site a minimum of 3 days per week

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Certification (PMP) or formal training in Project Management and experience using project management and resource management tools
  • Effective communication skills with cross functional teams, key stakeholders and senior leadership
  • Establish, maintain, and lead high performing project teams
  • Ability to hold team members, partners and vendors accountable to execute projects on time and within budget
  • Understanding of the requirements of key regulatory deliverables in Europe and the U.S. to drive successful outcomes from a program management perspective
  • Exceptional interpersonal and leadership skills to effectively communicate and build relationships at all levels within the organization
  • Exceptionally organized and process driven
  • Influencer capable of balancing consensus perspectives and cohesive decisions
  • Leverages a data-driven and structured approach to facilitate decision making
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary biotech environment
  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to new situations and learn quickly

Base Salary Range: $155,000 - $182,000
Actual base salary will be determined by relevant professional experience, applicable skills, and internal equity.
