Mainshares is building the capital markets platform to finance this wealth transfer. We help hungry SMB operators meet investors, raise capital to buy businesses, and succeed as owners.

Our software platform provides the trust layer between SMB entrepreneurs and investors, handling discovery, compliance, and investment management.

About the Role:

Mainshares is seeking to hire its first dedicated SDR to build out the platform's investor ecosystem. As an SDR, you will focus your efforts on targeting various investor personas and educating them on the SMB asset class and the Mainshares platform, with the goal of converting them into shareholders on Mainshares.

This role is the bloodline for the entire business, as new deals come to the platform looking for investors.

As an early member of the sales team, your feedback on investor interest and requests will be critical to the platform's development. Internally, you will collaborate with Mainshares engineering, product, operations, and legal to ensure a smooth user experience. We're eager for ideas!

Objectives of this role:

  • Maintain active engagement with new and existing leads through creative follow-up, generating increased interest and excitement in Mainshares

  • Build pipeline through self-sourced efforts and working strategically with Account Executives

  • Become an expert on Mainshares varying products and services

  • Provide timely and accurate front-line support for all prospective customers interested in Mainshares

  • Engage with prospective customers real-time via phone or zoom

  • Execute cold outreach campaigns to investors and finance leaders in the private equity space

Characteristics of the ideal candidate

  • Experience in finance or accounting to hold meaningful conversations with investors

  • Ambitious, driven, and fearless in the face of rejection

  • Curiosity to learn the world of SMB acquisitions and have a track record of a self-starter

  • Experience working in a high-volume customer-facing role

  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail

  • Track record of success in a lead generation role is a plus

  • Ability to break down and effectively communicate complex topics

  • Experience creating and executing outbound sequencing

Nice to have

  • Degree in Finance or Accounting

  • Intern or analyst at a Private Equity Fund
