Business Development Representative
KeyCare is a national virtual care company built natively on Epic. The Business Development Representative (BDR) owns the top of the sales funnel — identifying, researching, and qualifying prospective health system and health plan accounts, then handing off warm, well-qualified opportunities to our partnerships Vice President and Account Executives.
This is an entry-level, foundational role on a growing partnerships team, and a launchpad into a full sales career at KeyCare.
What You'll Do
Serve as the first point of contact for inbound and outbound leads — from web, Epic-affiliated channels, industry events, and other sources — and turn them into qualified, sales-ready opportunities.
Build and maintain a robust, well-documented pipeline by researching target accounts, running structured outreach, and applying consistent qualification criteria before handing off to VP/AE.
Responsibilities
- Prospecting: Identify, research, and qualify potential clients within assigned territories or accounts, and also respond to and qualify early-stage inbound leads.
- Lead Generation: Generate high-quality leads through various channels (cold calling, email, social media, etc.) and promptly work inbound leads as they come in, nurturing both through the sales pipeline.
- Pipelining: Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline by effectively managing and qualifying leads.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Vice Presidents (VP) and Account Executives (AEs) to understand their sales territories, target accounts, and sales strategies.
- CRM Hygiene & Data Management: Own day-to-day CRM upkeep, accurately and promptly logging lead information, activity, and pipeline stage changes, and publish dynamic reports for the partnerships team.
- Qualification & Scoring: Score leads against KeyCare’s qualification criteria to build an Ideal Opportunity Profile (IOP) before advancing them in the pipeline.
- Handoff & Alignment: Coordinate qualified-lead handoffs to the VP/AE with a detailed prospect profile and a brief internal alignment touchpoint and join the initial prospect meeting to carry over context.
- Sales Process Adherence: Follow established sales processes and qualification methodologies to ensure efficiency and consistency.
- Continuous Learning: Stay current on industry trends, KeyCare's services and Epic-native workflow, and sales best practices.

What We're Looking For
- 1-3 years of experience in a sales, customer-facing, or lead-generation role; prior BDR / BDR experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the persistence to handle high call/email volume and frequent rejection without losing momentum.
- Comfort learning and applying structured qualification frameworks and adapting to KeyCare's own scoring criteria.
- Organized and detail-oriented in CRM hygiene — accurate, timely logging of activity and lead data is core to the role, not an afterthought.
- Curiosity about healthcare, virtual care, and the Epic ecosystem; no prior healthcare experience required, but genuine interest in the space matters.
- Coachable and metric-driven, with the self-motivation to work a pipeline independently in a remote, startup environment.
