Overview
As a senior network Engineer at Joby Aviation, you will be responsible for architecting, supporting, and maintaining our network infrastructure, security, reliability, and performance. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams and leverage your knowledge of cloud networking solutions. Additionally, you will conduct predictive wireless heat maps, perform site surveys, and ensure optimal network performance. The senior network engineer will use advanced tools such as Ekahau, LucidCharts, and AutoCAD to model, design, and troubleshoot wireless environments.
Responsibilities
- Architect, configure, and maintain a Zero Trust Network Architecture to enhance security and minimize the attack surface.
- Implemented and managed cloud networking solutions, including Juniper Mist and Cato Networks, to support remote and branch office connectivity.
- Configure and troubleshoot network devices such as ArubaOS, JunOS, and Cisco IOS.
- Deploy, manage, and support Juniper IPClos, EVPN/VXLAN, to support data center and cloud-based services.
- Monitor and troubleshoot network performance issues using network monitoring solutions such as Observium, LogicMonitor, or Datadog to ensure high availability and minimal downtime.
- DNS administration and system management, such as Micetro and Power DNS.
- Implement and manage network access control solution 802.1x
- Manage and maintain eBGP & iBGP to optimize network routing and performance.
- Design, deploy, and manage wireless network solutions for clients, ensuring reliability, scalability, and performance.
- Conduct predictive wireless heat maps using Ekahau to optimize signal strength and coverage.
- Perform on-site and remote wireless site surveys to identify network gaps, interference, and capacity issues.
- Analyze and troubleshoot wireless network performance and suggest improvements.
- Use LucidCharts to develop clear and concise network diagrams and documentation.
- Create and review floor plans using AutoCAD for wired and wireless network designs and deployments.
- Provide technical support to end-users and other IT teams for network-related issues.
- Stay current with emerging networking technologies, best practices, and industry trends.
Required
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience as a Senior Network Engineer with a strong Zero Trust Network Architecture background.
- Hands-on experience with cloud networking solutions, including Juniper Mist, Cisco Meraki, and Cato Networks.
- Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting network devices using JunOS and Cisco IOS command-line interfaces.
- Expertise in EVPN/VXLAN, IPsec, and SD-WAN technologies.
- Experience Networking in AWS, GCP, Azure, and/or IBM
- Relevant certifications such as CCNP, JNCIA, or JNCIS are a plus.
- Wireless certifications such as CWNA, CWNP, or CWDP
- Experience in the Aviation Industry with a deep understanding of industry-specific requirements.
- Familiarity with DNS and IPAM solutions, such as Infoblox or BlueCat DNS.
- Proficiency in network access control solutions, including Cisco ISE or Portnox NAC.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Expertise in routing protocols such as BGP.
Desired
- Experience with ArubaOS and WLC controllers
- Experience with Cloud Networking (AWS, Azure)
- In-depth knowledge of ZTNA and best practices
- Experience in Point to Multi-Point Wireless Technologies
- Experience with SD-WAN solutions such as Viptela, Silver-Peak.
- Experience in the Aviation and or Manufacturing industries is a plus

The target base pay for this position is $120,600- $160,800 per year salary. The compensation package will be determined by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
