Joby Overview

Located in Northern California, the team at Joby Aviation is driven by our goal of creating an affordable, all-electric air transportation system. Imagine a piloted air taxi that takes off vertically, then quietly carries you and your fellow passengers over the congested city streets below, enabling you to spend more time with the people and places that matter most. Since 2009, our team has worked steadily to make this dream a reality. We’ve designed and tested many generations of prototype aircraft capable of serving in a network of electric air taxis. We’re looking for talented, committed individuals to join our team as we push onwards toward certifying the Joby aircraft with the Federal Aviation Administration, scaling our manufacturing, and preparing to launch commercial service in 2025.

Overview

Joby is seeking an experienced aircraft maintenance professional to join our team as the Aircraft Maintenance Training Manager. As the manager of maintenance training programs, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing curricula, providing instruction to trainees, and leading a team of instructors as the programs expand. The manager will oversee training for Joby’s future fleet of novel electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Another key focus of this role will be the development and delivery of a new Light Sport Repairman - Maintenance certification program and an apprenticeship that leads to a Mechanic Certification with Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) ratings. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating new aviation maintenance career paths and excited about teaching the next generation of maintainers to support a new segment of the aviation industry.

  • Design an apprenticeship program to provide trainees with the knowledge and experience required for a Mechanic Certification with A&P ratings.

  • Instill a strong culture of safety and adherence to protocols in all training activities.
