About the role:
As a Senior Director of Preclinical and Discovery Applications, you will lead a team of scientists in utilizing experimental immunology to enhance Immunai’s Technology Platform and address critical preclinical and translational drug development challenges.
Location: New York, NY (Hybrid position, must be based in New York City)
Responsibilities
- Direct management of experienced team leads and multiple research teams responsible for developing and applying diverse preclinical model systems (in vitro, ex vivo, in vivo) and immunological assays to evaluate drug targets and characterize preclinical and clinical-stage drug candidates.
- Partner closely with multiple teams, including the Molecular Profiling lab, Computational R&D and Product Management to define and co-develop Platform applications that support external collaborations and internal preclinical and translational research initiatives.
- Oversee the planning and execution of multiple parallel cross-functional initiatives, including reporting to senior leadership.
- Support the External Collaborations team in executing on collaborative projects with biotechs and large pharma that involve experimental evaluation of therapeutic candidate molecules.
- Interface directly with Immunai leadership to effectively represent the work of experimental teams and support strategic planning and decision making.
Requirements
- A PhD in immunology and >5 years of post-doctoral immunology-related industry experience.
- Extensive management experience, including directly management of >5 person teams for >2 years and experience with matrixed team management.
- First hand experience supporting drug discovery and development in a biotech/pharma setting and familiarity with FDA regulatory requirements for IND submissions.
- Experience working with multiple immune targeting biological modalities (antibodies, bispecific engagers, immunoconjugates, cell therapies etc.).
- Experience developing and applying appropriate preclinical model systems to evaluate preclinical drug candidates.
- Experience developing and applying high content lab assays to evaluate human immune responses (e.g., flow cytometry, cytokine profiling); experience with. single cell transcriptomics and multiomics approaches is particularly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills and experience working with diverse stakeholders and teams, particularly computational teams.
Compensation: This position offers a salary typically between $200,000 and $275,000. There is an opportunity to consider higher compensation above this range based on business need, candidate experience, and or skills.
