Bring your visionary instincts to every stage of the product lifecycle—from conception and definition to development, release, and post-release activities. You'll play a pivotal role in strategic planning, feature selection, and day-to-day tactical operations. Together, our dynamic team propels the roadmap forward as we strive to make the digital world a safer place.

We are excited to offer two distinct Product Management internship opportunities. As a Product Management Intern at Illumio, you will engage in one of two exciting and impactful projects designed to provide hands-on experience in cybersecurity, product management, and cross-functional collaboration. Both projects focus on emerging areas of security and provide an opportunity to work on high-impact initiatives that will enhance Illumio’s product strategy and market positioning.

Key Responsibilities:

Project 1: Map MITRE ATT&CK Framework from Configuration and Traffic Data in the Enterprise

• Define and surface risky patterns that CloudSecure should highlight for customers based on network path analysis to improve threat visibility.

• Identify gaps where the product doesn't fully cover certain ATT&CK techniques, and propose areas for improvement or integration with other tools.

• Analyze CloudSecure’s current capabilities against the MITRE ATT&CK framework to determine which techniques are addressed and assess coverage.

• Gain hands-on experience with the widely-used MITRE ATT&CK framework.

• Learn key product management skills, including market analysis, gap identification, and strategic alignment.

• Work with cross-functional teams and directly influence product direction and enhancements.

Project 2: Kubernetes (K8s) Analyzer for Blocking Attacks in Runtime Environments

• Analyze and define which K8s security controls are critical to customers and explore how to integrate them into Illumio’s product offering.

• Gain a deep understanding of Kubernetes runtime environments, including Istio, eBPF-based visibility and enforcement, and policy engines like OPA and

• Investigate and leverage open-source technologies to build a solution that enhances security controls in K8s runtime environments.

• Develop a comprehensive technical understanding of Kubernetes security and cutting-edge technologies like Istio, eBPF, and OPA.

  Experience the end-to-end process of taking a feature from concept to production, learning about engineering, sales, and product development.

  Contribute directly to a new feature that addresses a growing market need in the container security space.

Experience:

• Currently enrolled in a full-time Master’s in Data Analytics, Data Science, or a related field degree-seeking program with an expected graduation date in Winter 2025/Spring 2026.

• Basic knowledge of Kubernetes and containers.

• Exposure to tools and technologies such as Istio, eBPF, OPA, Kyverno, or similar is a plus.

• Familiarity with product management tools like Jira, Confluence, or similar is a plus.

• Excellent problem-solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• A passion for learning and continuous improvement.

Compensation:

$ 47 USD
