Summary
As a Sr. Epic Patient Access Project Manager, you'll play a vital role in delivering and managing patient access projects for clients. Internally known as Operations Consultants, these folks are subject matter experts in ambulatory patient access workflows and technology. For this position we are also looking for someone skilled in Project Management methods and tools. For this project you’ll serve as a multi-year project management support for a California client's access program. Projects fit under the umbrella of Access Transformation and range from implementation of digital access tools to facilitating workflow redesign sessions. This role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring project milestones are met to optimize operational efficiencies and improve patient experiences. You will collaborate closely with clinical and administrative leaders to implement technology solutions and process improvements while monitoring quality, budget, and timeline adherence.An ideal candidate would be comfortable tracking and presenting outcomes to executive leaders, driving high visibility decisions on cross-functional teams (clinical and IT), and has a working knowledge of the Epic Access tools.
Note: This role does not require an active Epic certification and there are not any Epic build requirements for this project manager.
Responsibilities
Rate: Open hourly rate.
Length of Contract: We're hiring ASAP through June 30, 2026. Contract may be renewed on an annual fiscal year (7/1-6/30) basis.
Benefits Eligible: Yes.
Travel: 0-25%. No foreseen travel requirements, but we appreciate if there's flexibility to go onsite once or twice to our CA client.
Working Hours: Alignment with client work hours (PST).
Work Location: This position is remote. You must work from a location within the United States with consistent internet service.
Project Delivery
Execute scoped Improve projects and SOW deliverables, ensuring adherence to project timelines and commitments.
Complete project tasks and deliverables with attention to detail and quality.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to overcome project challenges and achieve project objectives.
Maintain clear project documentation for knowledge transfer and support.
Contribute to Hummingbird implementation playbooks and tools.
Process Improvement & Optimization
Coordinate improvement activities within your assigned workstream/project and collaborate with other workstreams to ensure alignment with project objectives.
Analyze existing processes and workflows to identify areas for optimization and efficiency gains.
Develop and implement improvement initiatives, leveraging best practices and industry standards.
Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize improvement opportunities, and gain buy-in for proposed changes.
Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented improvements, adjusting as necessary to drive continuous improvement.
Share knowledge of best practices and trends across healthcare organizations.
Operational Readiness
Work closely with clients and Hummingbird leaders to assess operational readiness for Improve initiatives, identifying potential risks and mitigation strategies.
Develop and execute operational readiness plans, ensuring alignment with project timelines and objectives.
Collaborate with stakeholders to communicate changes effectively and facilitate smooth transitions.
Provide ongoing support to address any operational issues or concerns.
Required & Desired Skills
Required Skills and Experience
3-5 years of Project Management experience in the Epic space.
Proven track record of start-to-finish execution of access projects.
Comfort with use of project management methodology and tools such as status reporting and risk/issue management.
Strong coordination skills to manage project delivery activities within a workstream and across workstreams.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
Ability to assess operational readiness and develop corresponding plans.
Experience in providing support during system changes and process improvements.
Understanding of strategic business planning and execution within healthcare technology or related industries.
