Director of E-Commerce

The Director of eCommerce is a critical leadership role at Hill House Home, who is responsible for growing the eCommerce business while managing the day-to-day needs. Expanding our digital footprint is a key initiative at HHH, and the Director of eCommerce will drive the company's overall digital vision and ultimately execute up on it. The successful candidate should be both a visionary and a tactician and have been part of a rapidly growing eCommerce business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and execute the e-commerce strategy and site operations for hillhousehome.com. This will be inclusive of managing online user experience, digital merchandising, consumer journey optimization, and day-to-day execution while always focusing on conversion
  • Manage external developer agency
  • Deliver high-performing consumer metrics and growth targets and consistently use analytics to guide the consumer experience; responsible for e-commerce analysis and site development
  • Daily monitoring and analysis of operational e-commerce metrics, KPI’s, i.e., traffic, AOV, conversion rate, various CTRs, bounce rates, site speed, etc
  • Analyze and develop insights and reporting on KPI performance, campaigns, and other noteworthy initiatives
  • Partner with Growth Marketing to develop and execute the online marketing strategy for overall e-commerce business goals (i.e. landing page strategy and on site functional needs); Work closely with brand marketing and creative teams to develop and execute landing pages, and seasonal content to highlight key brand initiatives, products, and categories.
  • Maintain and expand SEO
  • Oversee site merchandising and operations on a day-to-day basis
  • Accountable for site changes inclusive of CMS updates for content, campaigns, and product merchandising and integrations within the Shopify platform
  • Partner with customer service to quickly resolve and troubleshoot technical and customer account issues
  • Manage the eCommerce roadmap including prioritizing and managing important site upgrades to support an omni channel business and creating and implementing A/B testing sitewide while maintaining e-commerce budget
  • Collaborate with Director of Growth Marketing and Director of Planning in developing forecasts
  • Manage ecommerce content strategy and promotional calendar with creative and planning partners that's fully integrated and consistent
  • Ensure up-to-date knowledge of industry and ecommerce trends and tools, using insights to optimize conversion lift and channel personalization; monitor developing eCommerce technology trends, evaluate business opportunities, recommend, and execute new initiatives
  • Nurture an inclusive team spirit, welcoming diverse viewpoints, and creating an environment that inspires creativity and quality outcomes
  • Support the development of the ecommerce team by providing opportunities for professional growth and exposure to the ecommerce strategy

ABOUT YOU:

  • A holistic and well-rounded eCommerce background, preferably within the retail industry: P&L, merchandising, operational and marketing experience
  • Proven success managing day-to-day maintenance and site health of ecommerce platforms, preferably Shopify Plus
  • Deep experience with ecommerce optimization platforms such as Google Analytics, Klayivo, and Okendo
  • Knowledge of ecommerce site operations
  • Strong analytical, reporting and business acumen experience
  • Maintains an approach that is detail oriented, positive, decisive, and confident
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with an ability to structure ambiguous problems, analyze complex processes, synthesize data and drive toward optimal commercial solutions
  • Ability to clearly and succinctly articulate data stories and recommended actions
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, as well as an ability to build strong cross-functional relationships
  • Confidence with Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, v-look up, Sumif etc.)
  • Embraces a culture of learning and advocacy
  • Has lived experiences with people from different backgrounds and diverse teams
