About the Role

Hello Patient is hiring a Director of Finance to build and own the financial foundation of a fast-growing Series A healthcare AI company. You’ll be the go-to finance partner for the leadership team — keeping a tight handle on cash and helping us plan thoughtfully as we scale.

As we grow revenue and expand the team, this role will bring structure and clarity to how we operate: cash management, runway planning, forecasting, budgeting, and the financial decision-making that helps us allocate resources confidently. You’ll help us understand where we are today, what’s ahead, and what tradeoffs matter most.

This is a hands-on role with real ownership. You won’t be inheriting a mature finance org — you’ll help build the core workflows, reporting, and systems that support the business. You’ll own the fundamentals (monthly close, reporting, AR/AP, payroll, cash management) and build the planning muscle we need as we scale (forecasting, runway, headcount modeling, and lightweight budget guardrails). You’ll also bring financial rigor to key decisions like pricing and GTM spend so the company stays focused, healthy, and fundraising-ready.

What You'll Do

Own Financial Operations

• Run day-to-day finance operations: accounting, payroll, AP/AR, invoicing, and monthly close

• Partner with external vendors

• Ensure clean, accurate, and timely financials

Build Forecasting & Financial Planning

• Own cash flow management, burn tracking, and runway planning

• Build and maintain financial models for headcount, revenue, and growth scenarios

• Help leadership understand tradeoffs and plan ahead with confidence

Partner With Leadership on Strategic Decisions

• Work closely with the CEO on budgeting, pricing, and growth decisions

• Support board reporting, investor updates, and fundraising preparation

• Bring financial rigor to decisions across GTM, product, and hiring

Scale Finance for the Next Stage

• Improve processes, tools, and controls as the company grows

• Prepare the company for future fundraising, audits, and increased complexity

• Be a thought partner on how and when to invest as we scale

What We're Looking For

Must have

• 6+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or related roles

• Experience at a startup or high-growth company (Series A–C strongly preferred)

• Strong understanding of cash flow, forecasting, and financial modeling

• Comfortable being hands-on — this is not a purely strategic role

• Clear communicator who can explain financial concepts to non-finance leaders

• Experience supporting venture-backed companies or fundraising

Nice to have

• Prior experience in SaaS, healthcare, or B2B technology

• CPA, CFA, or finance/accounting background (helpful, not required)

• Experience implementing or improving finance tools and systems

Compensation

Base salary: $170K–$200K

Equity: Meaningful ownership in a fast-growing healthtech startup
