About the Role
We're seeking a Senior Conversational AI Designer to lead the development of healthcare conversational agents that serve patients, providers, and healthcare organizations. This is a hands-on role where you'll spend 80%+ of your time crafting and optimizing prompts while building expertise in healthcare workflows, conversation design, and AI product strategy.
You'll be our first line of defense for conversation quality, working directly with healthcare clients to understand their workflows, then translating those into scalable, reusable bot templates. As our platform grows, you'll identify patterns that enable us to move from custom implementations to productized solutions.
What You'll Do
Core Prompt Engineering & Conversation Design (80%+)
Design and optimize prompts for healthcare Q&A bots, virtual companions, health screening agents, and appointment conversion bots
Create conversation flows that handle complex healthcare scenarios including policy-specific questions, medical hardship support, and patient engagement
Continuously iterate on prompts based on real patient interactions, testing data, and feedback loops
Build reusable prompt libraries and conversation templates that maintain quality while enabling customization
Healthcare Domain & Client Learning
Interview nurses, doctors, and healthcare staff to understand real-world workflows and conversation patterns
Learn client-specific policies, procedures, and terminology to create accurate, compliant conversational experiences
Design realistic test scenarios that reflect actual patient interactions and edge cases
Call healthcare provider offices to research and improve conversational quality and authenticity
Product Development & Pattern Recognition
Collaborate with engineering to implement multi-agent architectures with technical support
Identify opportunities to productize repeatable workflows, reducing custom development overhead
Scope down complex client requirements into lean MVPs that can be launched and iterated
Test end-to-end patient experiences for new AI features, models, and platform capabilities
Serve as primary user of our internal AI agent platform, providing insights that inform product roadmap
Quality Assurance & Testing
Design and execute comprehensive test scenarios for prompt quality, conversation flow, and user experience
Conduct user acceptance testing for new conversational AI features and model deployments
Develop testing frameworks that ensure consistent conversation quality across different healthcare use cases
What You Bring
Required Experience
3-5 years of experience in conversational AI, prompt engineering, linguistics, or related field
Advanced experience with ChatGPT, Claude, or similar LLM tools, including custom prompt development
Strong analytical and pattern recognition skills, with ability to identify scalable solutions from custom implementations
Experience designing conversation flows, dialogue systems, or user experience for complex workflows
Proven ability to learn new domains quickly and translate business requirements into technical solutions
Preferred Qualifications
Background in analytical linguistics, computational linguistics, or cognitive science
Experience in healthcare technology, medical terminology, or patient-facing applications
Familiarity with AI/ML concepts including prompt engineering techniques, RAG, fine-tuning, or model evaluation
Experience with product management methodologies, lean startup principles, or MVP development
Track record of working with clients or stakeholders to gather requirements and scope projects

Note that compensation will vary based on level and years of experience.
