The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced HR professional to establish and lead the People function as the organization scales from early stage to approximately 40 employees. This role will be responsible for developing HR frameworks, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting organizational growth through effective people strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Lead end-to-end recruitment across all functions
- Partner with leadership on workforce planning and organizational structure
- Develop consistent and efficient hiring processes
HR Operations & Administration
- Establish and maintain HR policies, procedures, and documentation
- Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes
- Manage employee records and day-to-day HR operations
Payroll & Compliance (Malaysia)
- Oversee payroll processes and statutory contributions (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB)
- Ensure compliance with Malaysian employment laws and regulations
- Manage employment contracts, probation, confirmations, and exits
Benefits & Total Rewards
- Design and administer competitive, cost-effective benefits programs
- Liaise with insurers and vendors to implement and manage coverage
- Ensure alignment with statutory requirements and market practices
- Monitor utilization and cost effectiveness of benefits programs
Employee Engagement & Culture
- Support the development and reinforcement of organizational values
- Implement employee engagement and feedback initiatives
- Provide guidance on employee relations matters
Performance Management & Development
- Implement structured performance management processes
- Support managers in goal setting, performance reviews, and development planning
- Identify organizational capability and leadership development needs
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline
- 4+ years of relevant HR generalist experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Sound knowledge of Malaysian employment legislation and statutory requirements
- Demonstrated ability to build HR processes and frameworks from inception
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
