Primary Function of Position:

Performs a wide range of facilities services tasks including non-technical maintenance of plumbing, electrical, heating, ventilating, and/or air conditioning facilities and equipment, at a level not requiring formal licensure. May be required to perform tasks of other unlicensed trades, such as a light equipment operator, carpenter, painter, and/or locksmith.

Position Roles and Responsibilities Specific for Facilities Technician includes:

  • Monitors, maintains and performs standard repairs to building electrical facilities and systems, such as tubes, fixtures, switches, photocells, and outlets; assists licensed electricians with non-technical repairs as appropriate.
  • Monitors performance of heating, ventilation, and cooling systems for the facility; performs standard repair/replacement of components, as appropriate, and non-technical maintenance tasks such as cleaning of heating and cooling fan coil units and adjustment of system controls.
  • Monitors and performs non-technical maintenance of plumbing systems, including standard repair of leaking fixtures, cleaning obstructed waste lines, installing water coolers, and/or performing non-technical modifications to plumbing and water supply systems; assists licensed plumbers, as appropriate.
  • Performs carpentry maintenance tasks including routine sheetrock/drywall installation and/or repair, window replacement, cabinet, and countertop replacement, painting and texturing, and door and hardware installation, paint interior and exterior finishes, as appropriate.
  • May perform or assist in the repair and maintenance of support equipment that includes but is not limited to, air compressors, air dryers, vacuum systems, HVAC, and DI water Systems.
  • May perform general maintenance tasks.
  • Complete projects following policies & procedure; cleaning, planogram sets, proper labeling, signage & fixture needs of project, disposal items as a result of set, appropriate hazardous waste storage and clean up.
  • Inspect and maintain hazardous waste 90-day accumulation areas to ensure compliance with EPA regulations
  • Maintains all waste hazardous/non-hazardous waste containers
  • Maintains outdoor property appearance to comply with stormwater permit rules using best management practices and 5S standards

  • As directed by the EHS manager, attend various required training courses to meet OHSA, DOT and EPA regulations
  • Assists in safety and environmental compliance-related duties as required by the EHS manager
  • Communicates problems and issues to a supervisor
  • Be medically cleared to wear a respirator if directed to by EHS manager
  • Conduct work in accordance with all safety & environmental laws and regulations
  • Overtime Required
  • Previous experience operating a forklift, working with hazardous materials/hazardous waste or working in manufacturing, warehousing or an industrial setting is desired but not required.
  • Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Document facilities, maintenance requirements, maintains appropriate records of work performed.
  • Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by the supervisor.
  • Inspect and test fire protection and generator systems.
  • Oversee security and logistics associated with the project offices, warehouse, and disaster recovery facility.
  • Identify and implement cost savings and resource conservation initiatives.
  • Conduct daily facility review to ensure compliance with project safety and quality standards to ensure a productive and safe work environment including:
  • Perform ergonomic evaluations and adjustments for Project’s personnel.
  • knowledge of building, fire, safety, and cleanroom standards and codes

Requirements

  • Education: Minimum High school diploma or equivalent military training, technical diploma, or equivalent experience. (AS degree preferred,)
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • 3 to 5 years maintenance experience preferably in plumbing, electrical, HVAC or Carpentry.
  • Able to lift 30-50 pounds on a daily basis and to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Have an aptitude for problem solving
  • Experience with hand and power tools.
  • Experience managing vendors.
  • The willingness to work overtime as needed or required

Physical Requirements:

  • Comfortable lifting 30-50 pounds as part of daily work.
  • Ability to work long hours or overtime when necessary to meet deadlines.

  • Basic computer skills, including familiarity with personal computers and online documentation.
  • Ability to use basic tools and measurement instruments, such as calipers and gauges.
  • Mathematical proficiency, including adding, subtracting, calculating percentages, and understanding tolerances.
  • Strong communication skills for writing clear documentation, providing feedback, and collaborating with diverse teams.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts and meet cleanroom requirements, including wearing PPE and adhering to cleanroom standards.

  • Base Salary: $90,000-$105,000
