Job Summary

Modernizing America's grid isn't just an engineering problem—it's a policy problem. Tariffs, permitting, interconnection queues, transformer supply mandates, domestic content rules—these are the bottlenecks we can't engineer our way around. We need a public policy leader who can shape the regulatory and legislative environment so FluxCo (and the broader grid) can move faster. This role expects regular travel to Washington, D.C.

Core Responsibilities

• Own FluxCo's public policy strategy end-to-end—from agenda-setting through execution.
• Build and manage relationships with federal agencies (DOE, FERC, DOT, Commerce, EPA) on issues affecting the electrical grid and transformer supply chain.
• Engage directly with members of Congress, congressional staff, and committee offices to advance FluxCo's policy priorities.
• Recruit, coordinate, and direct outside advisors, lobbying firms, and coalition partners as needed.
• Translate FluxCo's business and technical priorities into policy positions—and translate policy developments back into business strategy for the executive team.
• Represent FluxCo at industry forums, agency proceedings, and public hearings.

Requirements

• Education: We don't care how you got here. Hill staffer turned advocate? Trade association vet? Former regulator? Show us you've moved policy.
• Experience: 7+ years in federal policy, government affairs, or regulatory strategy—ideally with exposure to energy, infrastructure, or industrial policy.
• Network: You already know the right people at DOE, FERC, and on relevant Hill committees—or you have a credible plan to be in those rooms quickly.
• Growth Mindset: This is a build-it-yourself role. We don't have a policy function yet—you'll be it, and you'll shape what it becomes.
