About the role:
Empassion is one of the most impactful and exciting start ups in health care. We are focused on improving the experience and lowering costs for seniors at end of life. Specifically, we provide palliative and hospice care for seniors with serious illness and high risk of an over-medicalized death. This population is highly neglected in the current market.
Empassion clients are payers and risk-bearing entities and we work with community palliative and hospice partners to deliver superior outcomes. We are live today across 44 states and growing rapidly.
Empassion is a remote company, fully distributed across the United States. We prioritize asynchronous work and communication but are quick to get on a call or Zoom.
As a Care Center Unit Coordinator, you will efficiently service business operations and growth and be a strong leader for the team. You will join a dynamic team of leaders who are focused on improving the lives of seniors with serious illness.
The Care Center Unit Coordinator will report directly to the Director of Clinical Operations. This position will require you to answer and route incoming calls from patients, family members, primary care providers and specialty care providers. In this position you will handle general administrative duties including, but not limited to: answering incoming calls, answering patient/provider questions, routing calls to care center team, navigating our platform and uploading/downloading documents in an EMR.

What success looks like:

  • Collaborate and maintain strong relationships with clinical and non-clinical colleagues within the care center
  • Manage uploading completed clinical documentation
  • Manage administrative intake of phone calls, electronic messaging and routing of patient and client needs to appropriate members of the care center
  • Responding to patient and provider questions (both telephonically and electronic messaging) coming in to the care center
  • Conduct satisfaction surveys with patients and families under care of the care center
  • Support care center team to maximize productivity and delivery of care to patients and providers

What you will bring

  • 3+ years of experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Strong preference for experience as a hospital or clinic health unit coordinator in a fast paced environment.
  • Bilingual is not required but beneficial
  • A high attention to detail in the work you deliver.
  • You are comfortable navigating multiple different technology platforms.
  • You have a can-do attitude and a strong sense of personal accountability to deliver results.
  • You are detail oriented and passionate about the work you do while delivering results.
  • You are an excellent communicator and respectful of your colleagues, and you thrive in a fast-paced team environment.
  • You have experience and comfort with working in ambiguous, often changing and high growth environments.
  • You are compassionate and caring in your communication with patients and seek to help solve problems and resolve concerns.
