We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to help develop and scale our enterprise software test infrastructure for commercial operation. You will partner with our internal and contract SQA team to provide white-box testing support. You will be responsible for building software automation and infrastructure for Back-End and Front-End testing and providing tooling for ensuring all products meet quality criteria and industry best practices. Responsibilities will include infrastructure automation, CICD platform support, test planning, execution, monitoring, analysis of all software applications. You will drive the development of our test specification, automation tooling and test infrastructure implementation, bug tracking/resolution, and overall quality.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain FE automation framework using Cypress or Selenium
  • Design, develop, execute BE automation functional regression in security testing, and performance/load/stress testing.
  • Create test strategy, test plans, and execution plans for manual/ad-hoc/automation for both FE and BE
  • Contribute to the Full Stack SDLC process including technical requirements, analysis, design, development, testing, defect fixes, and software support.
  • Assist in translating business requirements into RDBMS entity modeling and physical design.
  • Utilize source control and build management tools like GitHub for version control.
  • Participate in Agile development practices and support scrum processes using JIRA for backlog, tasks, and defect management.
  • Participate in UX and website design for customer-facing portals and services.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of REST APIs, Microservices, and Service mesh architecture using domain-driven design on AWS, leveraging API Gateway and Lambda.

Essential Qualifications &Experience:

  • Proficiency in communication and teamwork.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in developing test plans, test tools, and test frameworks.
  • Experience in both manual and automation testing.
  • Strong automation experience in Selenium, Cypress, and Postman
  • Strong knowledge of REST API design using Web Services on AWS
  • Basic familiarity with databases, web servers, and UI/UX design.
  • Knowledge of front-end languages, libraries, and JavaScript frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience:

  • Interest in synthetic biology, DNA synthesis, or Life Science Tools.
  • Background in biotech or molecular diagnostics is a plus.
  • Exposure to authentication methods and security practices.

Salary and Benefits:

The annual base salary compensation for this role, if based in California, is: $140,000 - $165,000. Compensation may be different in other locations. Final compensation also includes bonus, equity and benefits. Specific offer packages are determined by multiple factors, including candidate skill, experience, expertise, and location.
