About DayDream
We help dentists get paid for the work they do. In this $165B market, our product simplifies the complex process of verifying insurance coverage, submitting claims, appealing denials, billing patients, and maintaining clean books. As a result of how complex this process is and how many things get lost in the process, dentists can lose 10–20% of their revenue!
What this leads to is the thing patients hate about the American healthcare system: it’s inefficient, unaffordable, and just too d*mn confusing. We work with a lot of dentists and they don’t love it either. Dentists want to treat you, help you, and see you smile.
We believe that by automating parts of revenue cycle management, we increase financial transparency for everyone involved—patients, providers—and help support small business owner dentists across America.
The Role
We’re looking for a Platform Engineer who’s obsessed with building fast, reliable, and secure systems—and giving product engineers the tools they need to ship with confidence. You’ll be the backbone of our infra, observability, and deployment pipeline, owning everything from monitoring and alerting to networking, security, and CI/CD.
Responsibilities
Architect and maintain a reusable component library in React/Next.js
Build rich, interactive workflows that visualize complex insurance and financial data
Partner closely with design and product to ship beautiful, usable interfaces
Turn fuzzy UX problems into polished solutions with taste and speed
Bring structure and craft to our frontend codebase—accessibility, performance, responsiveness
Help establish frontend patterns, design systems, and interface conventions
Requirements
Deep experience with React and Next.js
You’ve built and maintained a scalable component system or design system
Strong design sensibility and a high bar for UI polish and interaction
You’ve built “power tools”—complex, multi-step interfaces with high functionality
You understand how to represent and explore complex, structured data visually
Bonus: motion/animation, accessibility, Figma-to-code fluency, charting libraries (e.g. D3, Recharts)
-
In-person in San Francisco, 5 days a week
Signs You’re a Good Fit
You obsess over pixels and hover states
You’ve worked on internal tools, dashboards, or multi-role workflows
You’ve built beautiful UIs that handle messy or dense data gracefully
You see frontend as a craft, not just implementation
-
You believe powerful tools can also be joyful to use
