About the role:
At Commure + Athelas, we are seeking a talented and dynamic Senior Commercial Counsel to join our legal team. Our ideal candidate will be responsible for providing legal guidance and support on a wide range of commercial matters, including contracts, partnerships, and compliance. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with various departments to ensure that our business operations are legally sound and aligned with our strategic goals.
What you’ll do:
Review, negotiate, and draft a variety of commercial agreements, including vendor contracts, customer agreements, partnership agreements, and licensing agreements
Provide proactive legal advice to internal stakeholders on commercial matters, risk management, and compliance issues
Ensure that Commure + Athelas’ commercial practices comply with relevant laws and regulations, including data privacy, intellectual property, and industry-specific regulations
Assist in the development and implementation of company policies and procedures to mitigate legal risks and ensure compliance with applicable laws

Collaborate with other departments, including sales, marketing, and product development, to support business objectives and address legal challenges
What you have:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
Must be admitted to practice law in a US state or have the ability to obtain admission
Minimum of 4+ years of experience as a commercial counsel or in a similar legal role, preferably within the technology or healthcare industry
Strong knowledge of contract law and commercial transactions
Excellent negotiation, drafting, and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
