A Genetic Counselor is a medical professional with a broad knowledge of clinical genetics and the ability to service Color’s clinical genetics clients via telephone, which includes discussion of findings, risks, and published medical management recommendations, as well as facilitating connections to appropriate healthcare professionals and support resources according to their clinical needs. Genetic Counselors will also be responsible for conducting genetic counseling sessions for participants in the NIH All of Us Research Program, a groundbreaking, million-participant public health study whose mission is to accelerate health research and medical breakthroughs, enabling individualized prevention, treatment, and care for all of us. This individual should have experience counseling clients and providers about various adult genetics findings, including but not limited to cancer, cardiovascular, metabolic and pharmacogenomics results. They should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and should be able to critically think and implement solutions that contribute to delivering high quality genetic testing and counseling services. This position requires independent work while maintaining good team communication and collaboration remotely.
This position reports to the Senior Manager of Genetic Counseling Services and coordinates closely with the Clinical Reporting, Genetics Support, Genetics Product, Laboratory, and Clinical Genome Interpretation teams.
This role is a temporary, 6-month, full-time opportunity. This individual must be able to work Monday-Friday 9am-5pm in any time zone.
