Web Werks CEO
The Role
Web Werks has been actively pursuing growth in the data center business, particularly focusing on expanding its presence in the Indian market.
The organization's initial plan of delivering 60MW over a decade has been revised to 140MW within 6 years. Looking ahead, the ambitious goal is to reach 1000MW beyond 2030, positioning Web Werks among the top five data center providers in India.
To help deliver the growth aspirations, Web Werks is keen to bring on board a CEO with a strong strategic orientation, P&L management, and commercial/GTM orientation.
The remit of the role will involve spearheading Web Werks business in alignment with Iron Mountain's (IRM) overall global DC vision, expanding the product portfolio and creating value, while driving operational excellence and providing effective leadership.
Additionally, the individual will play an active role in investing in the right propositions to grow in the market and strategically deploy capital to deliver against it.
S/he will specifically demonstrate strong commercial acumen to effectively engage and attract hyperscalers and enterprise customers.
Based in Mumbai, India, the individual in this role will report to Arvind Subramanian, EVP and Managing Director, India and Mark Kidd, EVP & General Manager, Iron Mountain Data Centers & Asset Lifecycle Management.
Key Accountabilities
The role will hold the key responsibility for:
Commercial Orientation and P&L Ownership
Possess strong financial acumen and experience in managing a P&L in a complex business environment.
Demonstrate strong commercial acumen, including strategic pricing, contract negotiation and revenue optimization strategies.
Ensure that financial objectives are understood and managed;’own the multi-year growth plan.
Strategic thinker with the ability to translate market insights into actionable business recommendations.
Invest capital to drive market growth and achieve targeted growth objectives.
Engagement with customers
Demonstrate leadership gravitas and technical expertise to effectively engage with and attract top-tier hyperscalers and enterprise customers. This is instrumental in driving business growth, fostering customer relationships, and achieving strategic objectives within a competitive market.
Proven ability to position products or services within competitive markets. This involves analyzing market trends, customer insights, and competitor landscapes to identify unique value propositions that resonate with and help acquire hyper scalers and/or enterprise customers.
Ability to cultivate and expand existing customer relationships through effective account management and relationship building strategies.
Expertise in solutioning by collaborating closely with clients to understand their complex challenges and develop tailored solutions that address specific business objectives.
Manage assets and drive operational excellence
Effectively manage and drive operational excellence in site selection and development, land acquisition, building, power management, and distributed infrastructure within the context of data center operations.
Lead negotiations with relevant parties to secure land acquisition agreements, ensure all legal and regulatory requirements related to land acquisition and site development are met, including obtaining necessary permits and approvals.
Strategic positioning and decision making regarding capital allocation, alongside other critical responsibilities in data center operations.
Developing, designing and establishing structures, systems and processes to most effectively achieve the organization’s objective.
Actively investing in the build out of new capabilities, expanding the product portfolio and ramping up new capacity.
Providing effective leadership, direction and management
Facilitate a smooth cultural transition keeping in view IRM’s global DC vision. This involves aligning the existing team to IRM’s key leadership values, processes, controls, and strategic goals, emphasizing a shift towards a matrixed organizational framework. The CEO will set the tone for culture and leadership behaviors that foster collaboration across regional/geographic, business, and corporate matrices.
Evolve the company to an institutionalized entity capable of scaling.
Building a high performing team is crucial for success. The CEO will focus on attracting top talent, identifying individuals who thrive in dynamic, matrices environments and can contribute to both strategic planning and operational execution.
Retention strategies will also be a priority, ensuring that ey talent remains engaged and motivated, fostering a culture of inclusivity and innovation.
