As the Managing Director, your primary responsibility will be to drive growth and revenue generation by selling Iron Mountain’s suite of solutions into global strategic Life Science organizations. You will lead a high-performing business development team and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities, develop strategic partnerships, and deliver exceptional solutions to our clients. As an experienced leader, the role will build lasting executive level relationships and align strategic priorities to support successful long-term growth.

Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy and Planning:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to expand Iron Mountain’s footprint in your defined book of global Life Sciences accounts and achieve revenue targets.

  • Work with your key target accounts and establish relationships with C-level executives and decision-makers within these organizations.

  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to refine sales approaches and maximize business opportunities.

  • Leverage your industry experience to provide innovative and agile solutions that align with your client’s goals.

Business Development:

  • Prospect and cultivate new business opportunities within your defined book of global Life Science organizations, leveraging your industry knowledge and network.

  • Lead and participate in client meetings, presentations, and negotiations to secure new partnerships and contracts.

  • Collaborate with the marketing teams to create targeted campaigns and promotional activities to support business development efforts.

Relationship Management:

  • Nurture and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, ensuring client satisfaction and identifying opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.

  • Serve as the main point of contact for key accounts, addressing any concerns and providing exceptional customer service.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead, mentor, and motivate the business development team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.

  • Set performance goals and track progress, providing regular feedback and support to team members to enhance their effectiveness.

  • Be the “CEO” of your book of business.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with the product development, marketing, and operations teams to align sales strategies with product offerings and market trends.

  • Provide valuable input to the product development team based on customer feedback and industry insights.

Market and Industry Insights:

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and emerging technologies within the Life Sciences sector.

  • Translate market insights into actionable strategies to drive business growth and maintain a competitive edge.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, or related fields. An advanced degree (MBA, PhD) is a plus.

  • Proven track record (10 + years of experience) of success in selling complex solutions and services into global strategic Life Science organizations; Digital Transformation, Business Process Outsourcing & SaaS based applications.

  • Extensive experience in the Life Sciences industry with a deep understanding of market dynamics, key players, and challenges.

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a high-performing team.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.

  • Analytical mindset, capable of using data to drive decision-making and strategy.

  • Willingness to travel as required for client meetings and industry events.

As the Managing Director for Life Sciences, you will play a crucial role in shaping our company's growth and market presence within this strategic sector. Your strategic vision, leadership, and ability to build strong relationships will be essential in driving success and maintaining long-term partnerships with global Life Science organizations.

Reasonably expected salary range: $134,500.00 - $179,300.00 + commissions.
