Role Overview

The IT Sr. Systems Administrator is an exciting role at one of the leading cutting-edge technology startups in the world, supporting both Chaos Products and IT infrastructure. This person will build and manage the IT solutions that will play a large role in contributing to Chaos Industries' advanced technology development including one of the most advanced sensor technologies in the world, Coherence. Near term, this is a very hands-on position with a heavy emphasis on the implementation of IT solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Provides the expertise and support for establishing specifications, configurations, and standards for Cloud and on-premise systems and software applications
  • Create and manage system and network configuration documents, operating guides, design diagrams, and other documentation
  • Identify gaps and take ownership of IT-related projects and work closely with other staff on efforts ranging from site-specific to company-wide scope
  • Deploy new systems hardware from bare metal to platform base operating system for multiple sites
  • Manage and monitor server performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions proactively
  • Ensure the security and integrity of server infrastructure through regular audits and proactive measures
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to design and implement system upgrades, patches, and migrations
  • Modernize and implement automation scripts using Powershell, Python and Ansible
  • Automate and streamline new hire onboarding tasks: account setup, equipment setup, and applicable IT training
  • Work full-time onsite out of our Hermosa Beach office

Minimum Requirements

  • 8+ years of technical IT system administration experience involving 5 - 10 major projects related to items below
  • Experience with planning and implementing IT infrastructure that meets DFARS government compliance standards, (e.g. ability to handle controlled unclassified information, CUI)
  • Experience with integrating on-premises, cloud, and hybrid technology including identity management, MFA, servers, routers, networks, and switches
  • Experience with OS deployment, management, and administration of servers, workstations, and laptops in Windows and Linux (e.g. RHEL/Ubuntu) environments, both on-site and remote
  • Scripting and development experience to automate IT processes (e.g. Ansible, Python)

Preferred Requirements

  • Strong PowerShell automation and advanced active directory experience
  • Experience with STIGs compliance including OS Hardening
  • Experience in DevOps or SRE type roles
  • Experience with Classified IT enterprise systems and solutions at companies in the Defense industry

Salary Range: $140,000 - $175,000

The stated compensation range reflects only the targeted base compensation range and excludes additional earnings such as bonus, equity, and benefits.
