Role Overview

The FP&A Lead will interact with every department within the organization; from business operations and engineering. They will also produce documents for outside investors to showcase future plans for the organization. This role will be a key figure within the organization and will be instrumental in owning and building out the FP&A function.

Responsibilities

  • Ownership of the FP&A function
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts through financial models, variance analyses, long-term planning, risk/opportunity assessments, and periodic/ad hoc reporting
  • Work on corporate projects and initiatives that impact the entire organization by teaming up with the leadership team to develop
  • Serve as Finance liaison to departments by working closely with them in understanding their business, supporting their initiatives, and general financial inquiries
  • Identify and research variances regarding forecast, budget, and prior-year expenses
  • Review financial reports, presentations, and other management reporting needs
  • Ad-hoc business reporting and analysis as needed
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned
  • Work full-time onsite out of our Hermosa Beach office

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field with 5+ years of professional experience
  • Strong knowledge of accounting/financial/operational principles
  • High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
  • Demonstrated experience in working in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple important deliverables
  • Comfortable navigating through gray areas without clear solutions
  • Capability to lead projects throughout an organization
  • Superior attention to detail and ability to successfully manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining a view of the big picture
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal
  • Self-starter with good time management skills when urgent deadlines need to be met
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with various management levels

Preferred Requirements

  • Masters of Business Administration in Finance, Accounting or related field
  • Experience with data visualization, storytelling, and insights to solve complex financial problems
  • Critical thinking skills proven through the ability to synthesize large quantities of complex data into actionable information
  • Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred), financial planning tools, financial systems implementations

Salary range: $130k - $180k
